Skunk #1 CFL grow harvest

I need to make a determination to whether my skunk #1 plant ive been growing with CFL's in organic soil is ready for harvest.

I'm on day 54 of flowering. The main Cola looks ready, big buds mostly orange hairs etc... but the lower buds are still kinda small and *some* still have a few white hairs.

Now i know the yields are gonna be low due to growing with CFL's but the main cola is looking ripe and smells great. By what ive described does my plant sound ready? I mean its day 54 i don't know how much growth is left in her. :?:

CFLs have horrible light penetration so if you dont have an even canopy yield is gonna be tiny, and the buds are gonna be fluffy and light most likely. You should really get a magnifying glass or a 420 scope to look at the trichomes. If they are starting to go from milky white to amber your almost there and its really personal preference. Some like to wait until the trichs are 40-60% amber, some more, some less.

Skunk #1 if i remeber correctly is a 8-11 week plant. 54 days puts you at almost 8 weeks. Id say wait a little longer, but its hard to tell without pics.

I just let the plant grow naturally, without topping, so i guess its my fault. But i think i can still get 1 ounce from the grow, the main cola looks decent, its just the lower branching bud sites that are lacking. A scope won't be possible for this grow but i will definitely get one for next time. On the white label site it says Flowering: 45 - 50 days? I will try to take a pic though when she wakes up its just my camera is prety crap.

+1 DunLarkin,
The Tri's will tell you. Also CFL'S can get you some good yields. They have CFL'S out now that need 300 watts to run, there about hundred and some bucks the there good. They've can a long way since the 42 watt ones!

Ive been using enviro lights, anyway here's a pic, (you cant really see the trichs in this cos the camera is shit gotta by a new one).
