Small Ganesha's Dream Grow

This is my first grow and didn't even belong to the site when I started it. I am growing Ganesha's Dream from Amsterdam Seed Bank. http://www.amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com/seedshop/strains/ganeshas_dream_marijuana_seeds.html

Seeds arrived in about 10 days. I am growing in a home made 8- 6" baskets in a Rubbermaid container. I am running a 600w HPS and a 400w MH over/beside them. Coco for a medium though I started the seeds in pure worm castings(big mistake). I am using Canna Coco A+B, Cannazym, rhizotoonic, super thrive and PH Down in RO/DI water. I am supplementing Cal/mag as well at 200ppm. CO2 is being supplemented as closely as I can tell. I am using a bubble counter only. I am doing about 7bps which should equate to 1cfh.

the plants are 12" tall and just began flower (12/12) after being on 24 hours before. I am hand watering after trying to use a dripper with no success. I am building a power distribution panel that should be complete and installed tomorrow. (it is my b-day and I am to high to work on the electrical panel today) It will have a 40 amp 220v switch for the lights plus circuits for everything else.

Temps are running 81-82 and humidity 43%.

The earth worm castings continue to burn the leaves after a couple of flushes. I will go back to the nutes at a 1/4 solution tomorrow and see what happens.

Here is my power distribution panel all finished up.

It is really important to get this right. After all If you are building one it is becouse the power avaliable to you now is in adequate. Make sure all the wires are large enough and all connections are tight. I am using #8 with 3 conductors plus a ground to run from my existing panel on a 60Amp 220v breaker. There is another 60Amp breaker in this box to act as a disconnect so all power can be turned off at once. I am using a 40Amp 220v timer for lighting though I am only using 110v from it now. It will give me enough upgrade ability to add as many lights as I am likely to ever use. I also have am using 20 Amp outlets. the boxes are all metal with stainless steel covers. A range plug will be used to disconnect this unit.

Total cost of all these parts including 35' of # 8 wire and timer was around $200 but well worth the expense. I have seen too many people lose their operation due to surge protector/ extension cords.

Did 4 cuttings from the first four plants today. Will do the others tomorrow.

The way I took them was cut the lowest 4 side branches stripped all but the growing shoot and top leaf. Scraped lower end of stem and split it for 1/2" dipped in cloanex and straight into the baskets where they will spend the rest of their days I hope.

I changed sizes of baskets from the 6" to the 3 3/4" as they were needing watered only about every 3rd day. I am hoping i can increase this to twice a day with the drip system on for a minute or so each time. We shall see how this works.

Still no sign of sex but that should still be about 5 days out or so.

They are under a 175w DE 10000k metal halide bulb that is about 30" above them. The fixture has a tempered glass lens to filter the excess UV. I tried to get a used florescent for $10 today but it wasn't working as soon as I get paid I will go get a new shop light and a new Carbon filter as the used Can 33 is letting the placer get a bit stinky.

Please excuse the poor quality indica porn it's after 3am already and I gotta 9 am with a judicial type who found out I was dumb enough to not hide my stash when I got pulled over.

K today is 7days of 12/12 cycle and it looks like we have some signs of flowering. It should be a bit more clear in a day or two. Sorry for the degree of detail in the photos but it is the best this lens can do.

I added 2oz. of liquid molasses, 2 oz. of Maxicrop and 12ml of CalMag Plus to the previous formula that I was feeding, which was 50% of what Canna recommends for their Canna Coco A+B feeding regime.

They finally look like they are feeding properly so I will be increasing the A+B until I get back to recommended or get nute burn symptoms again.

First male I think.

Another male I think.

First female.

Male or Female? I can't tell yet.

I was not getting the desired results from this used filter so I changed out the carbon in it. I used about 8 lbs so that would be $30 worth or so. Better than a new filter still and if that doesn't work I am gonna go get a Can 100 and see if it is big enough to control things a bit.

One of the local stores has CO2 controllers for $200 so that will be on the list of parts to get next. Unfortunately the solenoid on my regulator had gone bad and the unit will have to be replaced as well.

I still haven't run the home run for my power distribution box. I need to get that finished so I will quit tripping the breaker that EVERYTHING is on now. The humidity is up to 51% and I can't run my dehumidifier without tripping it.

I got my power distribution panel hooked up tonight. Yea no more kicking the breaker and having to reset all the clocks in the house.

I put my dehumidifier in the room and moved some stuff around. I am not sure what part of it made the diffrence but when I got through the temp was really going up in there. Like 93 before I added another fan. Lights are off now and I have 77 degrees and 34% RH.

The humidity was starting to get up to 53% before I turned the dehumidifier on. I think I am going to get up in the attic first cool day we have and run a 8" flex duct from where the 6" that supplies this room now taps in to the plenum add an inline fan and take it to the other side of the room and put in a new register. I am going to take the cover off the existing register and make it into an exhaust for the carbon filter and I am going to cut in a register in the wall down low and drill trough the bottom plate with a 3" hole saw a few times into the crawl space below(pier and beam construction) to use to bring cool fresh air in when the exhaust is pulling it out. I still have to figure out where I am going to duct my Light fixture with messing up this room too much. I am considering cutting a hole in the closet ceiling and exhaust into the attic. But I need to bring air in from outside the room then to prevent odor from contaminating it.

The hood has a 4" hole on each end. Is that big enough to keep a 600 watt cool? And what if I add a second one can I still run them inline?

OK we have 4 that are for sure male so as soon as I find my misting bottle 2 of them are going outside as they show good breeding traits and 2 are going to that great compost pile in the sky.

With only 2 females that have shown anything it concerns me that I may not get much from this batch. But there will be plenty of cloning opportunities however.

The best female though all of her clones developed some brown spots on the second day of being cut. She may have a disease issue and the others don't show as good a branch structure though all are about the same height. I will paint some pollen on the lower buds of each of the remaining ladies to see if I have any better luck with seeds.

So I took another set of clones from the now 3 females that are showing. I am pretty sure that I have one more in the tray that is a girl an d I would guess the other is a boy. Of the 2 that are planted in pots I am guessing they will take a bit longer to show because they had less ideal conditions.

I added some fans to keep temps down 2 in lines to the AC duct and a 20" to point at the plants. I picked up the materials to add an exhaust to the closet ceiling, a fresh air intake to the crawl space and am still trying to figure out the ducting for the light fixture. I will order a piece of tempered glass, as the one that came with it was missing at purchase.

I bought another inline fan for the hood duct and 25' of tubing and plan to duct to the attic. I may switch one of my turbines on the roof for a power vent and wire everything together so that when my exhaust is running from carbon filter the attic fan turns on and the exhaust is near it so that it pulls on out the roof.

I would say ventilation is what really needs the most work in this room as I am really seeing extrams in temps. Lights have been out for only about 3 hours but is down to 74 already. I saw temps as high as 93 on certain leaf faces today. I think I need thermostatic controls for some of the fans to save electricity too. I don't need all that running now but I don't want to go in there and light poison the girls.

Any sugestions would be appreciated. As these runs are just to work out the bugs I will probably double the lights for next run. (2k watts)

I had put all but one of the males outside, I had killed the other cause it was leggy and male. Today every plant was showing sex and all were girls except one unknown strain That I had planted. (One of the 20 free seeds Amsterdam seeds gives you.)

So we have 6 ladies that I would say are very similar in growth pattern. However when I checked on the 2 bows outside they weren't boys but hermi. They have female flowers all over them today and obvious 5 sided sacks hanging down as well. So this will keep me from having to make ionic silver to hermi one of the ladies to try to make feminized seed.

Anyone know how long I need to give the girl to make viable seed? This is an 8 week strain so I might get a couple more past prime to ripen the seed so lets say 70 days total and we are at 11 already. I would like to wait as long as is safely possible too get a really good seed production.

Lots of new toys to get in there this weekend. I bought a CO2 COntroller, the TelAire PPM-3, which seems to be way out of calibration. I got a CO2 test kit to try to get it close. It was reading 750ppm outside after 20 minutes of me leaving it alone. Directions say it should read 350-450 ppm. I found a 120v solenoid with 1/4" JG fittings on it in some of my junk so I will be able to use my existing regulator and then run through this solenoid controlled by the TelAire. It is kind of nice as the power for the unit is a wall pack and the power for the solenoid is separate so I can plug it into my lighting timer to stop spraying CO2 during lights out.

I ordered a Can 100 and 8" HO Can fan to keep oders down and am going to be venting my lights and setting up a fan to turnover the air in the room for fresh. I am going to need inspiration for this as I am unsure of the bst method. I am considering doing it via a thermostat during lights on and via a timer during lights off, perhaps once when lights first go off and then again like 8 hours later.

Let me know if you have ideas that have worked for you.

I ordered some seeds this morning. Killing Kush from Sannie, (looking forward to his freebies too!), Northern Lights and Papaya Feminized from Rihno. I think they may have been Nirvana but I can't remember, they sell so many different breeders seed.

I had to make some more clones as well tonight. Almost all of the first batch had died. These were the ones that I had split and scraped the stem. The ones that I had just cut dipped in gel and stuck in the coco seemed to be fine. Go figure! I guess there is something to the KISS method sometimes.

Latest addition to the room is a Can 100 / Can 8" H.O. carbon filter and fan.
Remember when ya gonna play with stanky girls ya gonna need some protection!

Let me go ahead and apologize to all stanky girls right now for any slurs,

Man I am wondering how some of you take pictures of those juicy thrichomes. I have been trying everything. But so far these are the best I could come up with. The camera is a Canon EOS XT( I spilled soda on my XTI...don't ask) with a 28-105 macro zoom lens or a standard 50 mm lens that it came with. The 50mm gives me more depth of field and the zoom tighter images. I am using the +4 closeup filter and a tripod with flash on.

btw these plants are 2.5 weeks into flower.

Here is what I am getting.

Macro/Zoom

Bawahaha

Killing Kush from Sannies's just made it to my door.
Here's hoping a blue pheno shows up! 30 to 50% colored buds are what was advertised lets hope so cause even purple would be kewl.
...course i am guessing purple won't get ya any higher but with parents like this one has that might not be needed.

If your interested in the all star heritage of this bad girl check out: http://en.seedfinder.eu/Motarebel_-_Killing_Kush.html

Kinda like crossin Jesse Jane x Belladonna x Jenna Haze :hump:

Hey there's some buds I wanna see!
