ive been reading on here and have found that u can use hydro nutes in soiless mixes(mine is promix, perlite, vermiculite) but what do u guys use as ratios like 1/4 or 1/2 strength and increase from there? also when do u start adding ur nutes? week 3

drench the soil... and then only water once it dries out... but you want to make sure not to underwater your plants... especially early on... and as long as you let the soil dry out mostly you won't over water them much...

and yeah, i use GH nutes (first maxi gro, now the micro and bloom parts of the 3 part) and go about 1/2 strenght 2-3 weeks in (depending on what the plant show)... 2-3 nodes high they can start taking that dose... then after 1-2 weeks move it up to full strenght... depending on hwo they react to the 1/2 strength... i like to try to keep my plants dark green, so come on Nitrogen! :blsmoke:

i just started using the new nutes, so i'll see how that goes, but the maxi gro was def. a simple, effective product (and clean too... its a powdered nute mix)

best of luck with your grow buddy

really i dont know what type of nutes you are using but i use an sensi grow and bloom,(its a 2 part formula)i use a drip system for veg and a ebb and flow for flowering, from my experience it is always a better plan to under nute than over!!! here is what ive been using with ro water.

new 0-8 inches 700ppm
8-13 inches 1000 ppm
13 inches and up 1200 ppm

also remember im not sure about soil but with hydro add your water and nutes to res then ph.when replenishing water to a nute mix existing in the res ph water then add and re-ph after adding.really dont know y this works the best but i have found it the best for me.good luck with your grow!!!

ok finally got around to taking some pics

first four are pretty self explanitory, ones my attempt at hydro with Superbud, the other two are attempts at soil one northern lights #5, one superbud, both from High grade seeds, Pics 4,5,6 is of my setup, 7 is of my clone bubbler, 8 is my ingredients for my soil, and the last is of my nutrients

Just started my hydo on nutrients so heres to hoping everything will go just fine

Any comments would be more than appreciated

hey lumberjack was re reading your post before and was wondering exactly what u meant? do u mean water with nutrient solution and than only water with R.O after that, if thats the case when do i add a nutrient solution again? or do u do it day on day off kinda routine,ie/ day1 nute, day2 R.O, day3 nute, day4 R.O, etc?

to be fair, i don't really have a set routine, with all the different things going on at one time and whatnot, i have a lot of different feeding schedules...
so i usually end up pushing nutes hard for a few days, then backing off for one or two, then going full blow... having different strains, some are a bit burned, some are a bit lighter greeen, and others are really nice...

i just make sure that atleast once a week i'm doing plain water
i don't do the RO, i use tap water thats been bubbling for atleast 24 hours... then i mix nutes just prior to feeding

my watering is a bit hap hazard though.... but thats what i like about the hempy bucket idea that i'm pretty much using... my perlite would dry out in hours if i had normal drainage holes at the bottom of my containers, but i actually make the single drainage hole 1 inch from the bottom... this creates a little resevoir that keeps water retained and wicks it up to the above medium, allowing a day or two in between feedings (my reletive humidity is real low, like 20% or something, so water goes away fast)... if i had better RH i could get another day between waterings...

i'm starting to ramble... but there are lots of little things that determine my watering... i am no where near dialing it down, and will make major changes in the future... but for now, i do what i can and what i know works... :blsmoke:
