Torn stem, can I mainline still?

Hey guys, I was mainlining my gorilla zkittlez I think a bit too early, and I tore one of the branches right where it touches the main....I have it bonded back to the stem with tape, will it eventually completely heal itself back to the main? If so, will it be alright to mainline it once it heals, or am I just going to re-snap it because it's weak? Thanks for the help, sorry I'm without pictures. I have no camera.

You should be able to re-mainline her once the stem has totally rejoined together and knotted up, or 'knuckles' up. You won't be able to bend it where the knuckle is as it will be thick, but you should still be able to bend and tie just above the knuckle without problems. Good luck and don't give up!

Thank you very much for the help, I appreciate it. If I can ask you 1 more question without a camera, that'd be awesome....I have it all set up to be mainlined. It's topped, defoliated, etc. and the stems at the 3rd node have been growing out for a few days, and they appear to have 4 nodes on each stem. Do I want to top those, or are those 4 nodes on each side my 8 tops? I've only topped once, but it seems I already have 4 nodes on each branch, is that 8 tops? From what I understand after reading alot of mainlining threads, I should have to top a 2nd time to achieve my 8 tops, but it already looks like I've got 4 on each side stem? I hate not having a camera. If you can't help me I fully understand. Thanks for the consideration though.

Well, I wish that I was more experienced with topping, as I've been growing auto's for a long time now. But from my understanding, that is more of a preference based on how much canopy space you have. There will be multiple bud sites branch off of each of the two growing tops as a result from your topping. I believe you would want to follow up by topping the dominant growing tip of each of those two branches, rather than trying to top all of the budsites that begin to sprout off of the main stems. I would feel better if a vet stopped by and confirmed my advice is correct though. :)
And no problem I like to help when I can! I'm sorry that I couldn't give a concrete yes or no! Maybe this bump for your thread will bring some new views!

Suppressed,
I did what you are describing. You are talking about one of the two main branches after topping? What I did was to simply cut off the damaged branch...let the good branch (which was then the main stem) grow out and simply started all over...only one node up. Might be faster then waiting for the damaged branch to heal.
