Wedding Cake VS "Wedding Cake"

Ok so as a strain access deprived Aussie who's been lucky enough to try a handful of the more exotic varieties (compared to what's on offer here in Oz - although they would be considered to be staple cultivars to alot of you guys) but can never try enough, I've been left to wonder what's the difference between the two different 'Wedding Cakes'? ie; the 'AKA Pink Cookies' (Cherry Pie × GSC) and the Jungle Boys / J. Beezy (Animal Mints × Triangle Kush #3).

I've brought some imported Pink Cookies variety a UK vendor and it was fucking lovely. I remember the taste and the accompanying relaxing high were the most memorable attributes to it, particularly the taste. And this was about 3 years ago now so it must've been pretty high calibre for it to be that memorable for me with the way my shitty memory is.

What are your thoughts guys?

So you're saying the Birthday Cake is another AKA for the 'Pink Cookies' variety or does having the forum cut in it differentiate Birthday Cake to the Pink Cookies version of Wedding Cake? By that I mean Cherry Pie × GSC (not the forum cut) = Wedding Cake AKA Pink Cookies & Cherry Pie × GSC (forum) = Birthday Cake or is it all the same thing?

This shit's bamboozling sometimes.

I'm not much of a scholar when it comes to strain history and lineage, but my understanding is that Jungle Boys Wedding Cake is the original and 'official' wedding cake. The other versions of it are either people who didn't know the strain name was already taken (happens alot in this industry), people trying to make money off another's work (also happens), or just misunderstanding/mislabeling of lineage (happens the most).

It i confusing bc the "real" Wedding Cake is actually Triangle Mints pheno but I think now generally speaking Birthday Cake is the name for Cherry Pie x GSC

You guys are confusing Jungle Boys with Seed Junkies. The real Wedding Cake cut is a select pheno of Triangle Mints found by jbeezy of Seedjunkies crew. Anything else is just a name trying to make money off hype. I have the real cut. It's nice.

If you can't get the cut, the next best think is a pack of Triangle Mintz from Seed Junkies.

Yeah that figures. It makes for a really hard time working out what's what. Why anyone would try to piggyback of the reputation and name of someone else's work in an industry such as the cannabis industry where the name of the game is repeat-business totally perplexes me. I can't figure that shit out. It's way too short-sighted of an outlook and business practice for me to be able to agree with.

I mean yeah you'll get that first sale but once the buyer realises they've been sold that impostor/imitation product as the real they're not coming back.

Speaking for myself, after I experienced a handful of the real deal strains I was then on a quest to get the genuine article into my own little collection of genetics. Same goes for my future purchases of weed. I'm not trying to get that thrown in a bag off Ebay "Cali" shit after having the real deal. Especially when the price point is the same or worse.

@PJ Diaz he grows the original clone only. Don't know if he's done the Pink Cookies.
I just bought some wedding cake labeled seeds, just gonna call them Pink Cookies from now on, will report back after grow
Please pardon my ignorance here but I've never heard of dude. I'm going to check out that link now. The Pink Cookies / Birthday Cake variety is nice bro. I've only had it once but it was good enough to memorable after all these years. Do you know what cross your "Wedding Cake" is?

The triangle cross is so much better than the cherry pie cross, not even close. To me, THE wedding cake is the triangle mints cross.
See now you go and say some shit like that and totally just reaffirm the reasoning behind my quest to try (consume) and obtain all of these strains alot of you dudes take for granted.

Nagh man, no chance of running a cut unless you know of a way to make one magically manifest itself all the way into my possession (and I might just have to include the fact that I'm in Australia) then you have my undivided attention.

I just want to thank you guys for helping me work out what's what here. I really appreciate you guys taking time out of your own time to help me figure this shit out. Now I've got a much more concise idea of the chronology of it all and what I'm looking for when it comes to hunting beans.

Big up yourselves guys! You'se are all a bunch of mad cunts! ( <-The very highest term of endearment here in Australia!).

If you ever visit, women love being called cunts here in the states. It's funny that we've got the same term of endearment for opposite sexes. We are both upside down to each other. :bigjoint:

i tagged him so he would know to come take a look at this thread, that's all that was. As for my strain i know i have 'Girl Scout Cookies x Cherry Pie' and TrueNorthSeedbank at least has the integrity to include
Also Known AsPink Cookies
at the bottom of their description. I didn't know wedding cake was a clone only strain until recently after reading a PJ Diaz post in a thread. I starting freaking out and started chatting with him to get some real answers.
