What is it with you people and markets? It's like a fucking religion. The market can't even function without the state, it has to be propped up and regulated so it doesn't consolidate and consume itself.
Sir! Is that your cart there in front of your horse?

Governments attempt to make markets predictable. With things like the great depression and great recession, I often wonder what success they have. I guess the alternative is monopoly and exploitation.

But markets existed before any government. Government could not exist without markets. It's not chicken/egg relationship.

The marijuana market in non medicinal states is propped up and regulated by the prohibiton then?

No...

Because an electric car is a secondary power source. You have to create power from primarily fossil fuels and then transmit the power to charge the car. It is stupid..

Unless we make significant gains in electrical power technology the cars of the future will run on methane and then hopefully hydrogen.

He doesnt care. His life is miserable and he exists here to put it on you. Dont take any of it seriously. He is some guy living off his wife and telling everyone that a hobby is his full time job. Nobody else believes it either. He lives in a hell of his own creation.

The range is 300 miles. 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds. 416 hp(310 kW). Over 90 MPG equivalent. The only problem is the $70,000 price tag after subsidy. The rich save the earth. While Obama wastes billions on alternative energy that goes bankrupt.
this is not news or politics and belongs in TNT..5 star roadkill

Bad ass car, I would love one.I read the average buyer makes over 120k a year and gets a 10k subsidy to buy one. Gotta love the way libs stick it to the rich with their attempts at do-good.

And here I thought this thread would have been of something worthy of debate, it was going well until your last sentence. What the fuck does President Obama have to do with cars like the Tesla? And it's future?

And you wonder why we make fun of you? You wonder why we stick to the same short answers? Why are you so racist?

Our energy dept is the only reason Tesla exists, not companies like Tesla, but Tesla. All it took was a nice campaign donation.

Most definitely. I'm not sure how it gets done though. How do we get the people who directly benefit from taking legal bribes to change the rules?

If lobbying were outlawed, it would simply happen behind closed doors, as is evident in countries that make lobbying illegal. At least it's a little more transparent here.

You are so very very wrong. Why do you people continue to bullshit when the facts are just a few google clicks away?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_Motors Please read the History section. And where is says where the Department of Energy was involved, I want you to click the ATVM link... actually, no, let me paste it here for you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Technology_Vehicles_Manufacturing_Loan_Program This states the program was created in the fall of 2008, BEFORE Obama was president.

Whoops.
