Burglar's relative says: "He could have used a warning shot first..."

So you saying it's OK for an elderly person to be burglarized, terrorized and perhaps killed by this ugly and mean looking thug? View attachment 2993221

Excuse me, but I'll use my right to security, profiling and my own intuition to shoot first, ask questions later.

Why is it you liberals are always sticking up for lawless people (and that includes your president)?

The old man could have done other things then kill him... I bet if he said get the fuck out or i'll kill you...he probably would have high tailed it...
Like I said there are numerous ways to subdue someone, other than kill him...

Right to security...I live in Canada and I feel safe as can be. No one in this Country can walk around with a concealed weapon...
That 2nd Amendment bullshit started in what... the Civil War...1800's for fuck sakes people... get with the fucking times....

Really? Not even the criminals intent on robbing you, or murdering you? Even those guys can't have a concealed weapon? Now, that's what I call an effective law; a law that even the lawless obey. Canada is so dreamy.

That's really going into the realm of speculation though. It's possible, but there's really no way to tell if it might prevent something in the future.
Obviously just speculating, but surely this is going to be known among prospective thieves in that area. I'm hoping it does slow the idiots down some, but admittedly it may just make the low-lifes arm themselves.

Unfortunately, we'll never know if it stops future crimes or makes them more violent. I lean toward it being a deterrent.

That has nothing to do with this topic really....Crimes Rates...
And ya of course people are carrying concealed weapons illegally, just like the weed I get...
But what your saying does not give reason to the 2nd Amendment...1791 was it's introduction....For fuck sakes Canada wasn't even formed....
Look at whats Kynes said...
That's the kind of ideology that is thrown around when people have the right to bear arms at all times and can fire at will, just because someone is on your property.
If it wasn't for people abusing it, it would make sense.
But around here a motherfucker comes in your house you cant just kill him dead... Was he threatening your life? Did he have a weapon? What was his intent?
Good chance someone is robbing you and you happen to be home, the dumb fuck probably didn't know you were home?
I can't see buddy opening fire after saying "Get the fuck out my house you little prick"

Obviously this fellow in the article wasn't very bright either, you don't just rob people like that... If you really expect to get away with it anyway....
He was just a 2bit thug looking for an easy pay cheque. Waste of breath no less... but if we want to be a civil society we have to be civil with everyone, even the no good criminals.
Poor old fellow didn't deserve to be robbed and woken like that. But unless that robber was threatening his life, physically he didn't deserve to die neither....

What if that old man starts suffering from dementia and accidentally walks in to that dead fellows brother house one day...
Fire away eh....

Put yourself in that situation and answer the questions you posed. Do you know the answers at the moment of the crime, or must you sift through the evidence after the fact to determine the answers? Are you willing to forfeit your life if you are wrong? The castle doctrine simply says "it is reasonable to assume the worst of somebody invading your home, car, and such, and to defend your life." The law presumes that deadly force is justified in such situations and rightly so.

Personally, I will take the castle doctrine that allows me to use deadly force and suffer no legal consequences over a bunch of social engineers examining the facts three days after a home invader slits my throat. You are free to bitterly cling to your notions of fairness when dealing with the thugs, and psychopaths. Good luck.

I think its important to point out that BOTH of those oxygen thieves had extensive VIOLENT criminal records.
Joe may have acted without that knowledge but,,,,he was the one there and NO ONE else saw what he saw.
Theres a reason why they didnt prosecute Joe Horn , in this case he did a public service.

Police initially identified the dead men in Horn's yard as 38-year-old Miguel Antonio DeJesus and Diego Ortiz, 30, both residents of Houston, and of Afro-Latino descent. However, DeJesus was actually an alias of an individual named Hernando Riascos Torres.[SUP][3][/SUP] Torres and Ortiz were carrying a sack with cash and jewelry taken from the home next door to Joe Horn. Both were criminals from Colombia who had been convicted on drug trafficking charges.[SUP][1][/SUP] Police found a Puerto Rican identification card on Ortiz. Torres had three identification cards from Colombia, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic, and had been previously sent to prison for dealing cocaine. Torres had been deported in 1999

Your anti gun dribble is also pathetic, i own many firearms that have never shot one single person, total liberal nonsense, why is it That when YOU people decide YOU dont like something the rest of us have to go along with it, this isnt 8th grade where you can talk other stupid kids into falling into your little clique. When you learn to reason and not be so self absorbed i can unblock you.

since the Magna Carta free men in britain have demanded their right to own arms, and have resisted numerous atttempts to curtail that freedom by various means such as:
prohibiting serfs from owning arms
limiting the possession of arms to the "nobility" and landowners
prohibiting protestants from owning arms
prohibiting scots and irish from owning arms
prohibiting catholics from owning arms
and now, prohibiting EVERYONE but agents of the government from owning arms.

every one of these prohibitions did NOTHING to protect the populace from criminals, as they do not obey laws, as a part of their chosen profession.
each of these prohibitions was crafted for no reason save to protect the government and it's agents from the populace and ensure that the various repressions enjoyed by the crown could move forward without resistance.

OUR founders learned this lesson well, and drafted the 2nd amendment language to preserve the similar language found in EVERY colony's charter, constitution and articles of incorporation.

canada used to have these sorts of protections too, but as Subjects Of The Crown, and not free men, you dont have any rights which are not granted to you by the crown's largesse.

the right to own and bear arms is the mark of a free man, being prohibited from owning arms is the mark of a servant.

so no, "That 2nd Amendment bullshit" didnt "start in the civil war or the 1800's. it started in ancient greece, where free men were REQUIRED to own arms and continues today in only a few places.
throughout history, when free men are disarmed it is just a prelude to repression.

the much vaunted canadian education system seems to be all sizzle and no steak. .

So, Canada has 1% more assaults and 64x less homicides with firearms.

Totally even keel there, bud.

10x the population, 64x the murders VIA guns. Wow.

USA is obviously doing it right.
The numbers cited are percentage of the population, hence 2.3% is not "1% greater than 1.2%" it is 92% greater, just as the sentence just below the listing in the link says. Do they teach math, critical thinking, and reading in Canada?

Canada has 100% more rapes per capita.
Canada has 92% more assaults per capita.
Canada has 13% more crime victims per capita.
Canada has 9% more suicides per capita in age ranges 14-24.
Canada has 9% more suicides per capita in age ranges 24-34.

You should get down off your high horse. You might fall, break a hip and need to come to the US for medical care.

That is the god dammed funniest thing I've read all day. Leave Canada for the USA.... LOL!!! Oh, man. You are funny, or REALLY stoned.

The stats you listed are PEANUTS in comparison to the insanely disproportionately high number of murders VIA gun.

Canada may have twice the rapes per capita, but the USA has SIXTY FOUR TIMES the gun murders, with TEN times the population.

That's fucked any way you want to distort the facts. The USA is a statistical anomaly when it comes to gun violence.

More rapes, more assaults, more crime victims, more suicides...

Thanks for the lecture. I will file it away in a secure place.

Some interesting reading for you, not that I expect you to understand it:

"For example, I live in Idaho. In 2011, our murder rate was 2.3 per 100,000 people. We have almost no gun-control laws here. You need a permit to carry concealed in cities, but nearly anyone who may legally own a firearm and is over 21 can get that permit. We are subject to the federal background check on firearms, but otherwise there are no restrictions. Do you want a machine gun? And yes, I mean a real machine gun, not a semiautomatic AR-15. There is the federal paperwork required, but the state imposes no licensing of its own. I have friends with completely legal full-automatic Thompson submachine guns.
Surely with such lax gun-control laws, our murder rate must be much higher than our Canadian counterparts’ rate. But this is not the case: I was surprised to find that not only Nunavut (21.01) and the Northwest Territories (6.87) in Canada had much higher murder rates than Idaho, but even Nova Scotia (2.33), Manitoba (4.24), Saskatchewan (3.59), and Alberta (2.88) had higher murder rates. (Okay, Nova Scotia is just a teensy-weensy bit higher than Idaho for 2011.)"

lulz. Math time:

144 canadian firearms homicides / 34.88 million people = a firearms homicide rate of 2.86

9369 US firearms homicides / 313.8 million people = a firearms homicide rate of 2.98

so, though the absolute number of firearms homicides in canada is far lower than the US, the RATE of firearms homicide is shockingly close despite canadas strict gun laws...

i had no idea canada was so full of dangerous gun wielding lunatics, just like compton or chicago yo.

maybe we should be watching that northern border more closely.

According to http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/united-states and http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/canada.

Canada has a rate of 0.5 HOMICIDES VIA GUN per 100,000 people. The USA has a rate of 3.6 HOMICIDES VIA GUN per 100,000. What's that? More than 7 times as many murders with guns per capita?? But your gun laws are A-OK!

Facts yo.

For total firearms related deaths including suicides etc. Canada has a rate of 2.38 deaths per 100,000 people, USA has a rate of 10.3 people killed per 100,000.

MORE FACTS YO.

Outside the inner cities, the violent crime rate in the US is extremely low. Much lower than Western Europe. Much, much lower than Eastern Europe. Lower than Canada.

My advice to Canadians is to avoid the inner cities in the US if you come to visit for a hip replacement or other specialized medical care.

"gun violence" ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

the US ranks LOW in the per capita firearms murder rate internationally.

check out west africa, south america and the middle east (war zones omitted of course) and youll see the RATE (#/Population) in the US is shockingly low, despite having a far higher RATE of gun ownership than the rest of the world.

put 100 americans in a room, and hand them all a gun, and 97 of those americans will walk out alive at the end of the day, and one guy will have a bullet in his shoulder.
put 100 canadians in a room, and give them each a gun, and 97 of those canadians will walk out alive, and one guy will have a bullet in his ass.

put 100 south africans or columbians in a room and give them each a gun, and youll have a room full of corpses.

http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_gun_vio_hom_fir_hom_rat_per_100_pop-rate-per-100-000-pop

i think we can all agree, GUNS dont kill people, South Africans and Columbians with guns kill people.
