Why do ALL the LED grows look so lame compared to HID?

Show me ONE 12/12 FS grow where the grower hit ONE POUND with four plants under 600w hid............"easy as it gets" is a huge understatement.
when did I say that? I said 4 plants, 4 week veg, 4 ozs per plant is as easy as it gets. The 12/12 from seed was about short veg times

Never heard of 12/12 from seed? That should be a dead giveaway. 4 plants, 4 week veg, 4 oz each = 1 pound with a bad grower under 1000 and a decent grower under a 600, easy as it gets
how long is 12/12?

i can see this with these (blue hammers) i got 10-12 weeks flower.

Sure, you can veg for 3-4 months under hid but not with 1 light. 1 light in a 4x4 tent with a 4 week veg to get 4 ozs per plant is all u need, indica doms with a 9 week flower. Until now iv never vegged more than 4 weeks but I decided to tinker with supercropping so im gonna veg til maybe week 7 with a blue og and a ultra sour so 2 more weeks n il flip. Threw in a critical + that I topped UB style that will only get 4 weeks veg just to fill a corner.

well you will see a difference in yeild with longer veg and between strains.. blue og can be a big yielder or small yielder depending on the pheno. critical and sour d are good yielders.'

fyii those are all sativa doms.. blue dream is mostly sativa, og is mostly sativa, critical +( jack herer) is mostly sativa. sour d is definitely a sativa too

If one pound/4x4 is considered the equalling point to 1000hps, then yes there are good and comparable grows. And I think that is a fair equalling point for the average like you guys stated.

The guys vegging for 2months+ are gutting 2+lbs/light so the time comes with a payoff. I think we need to stop the vegging argument. My next run will chill that out.

I just completed a grow of blackberry(a low yielder) and I should definitely get a full unit and more hopefully. It is going into jars tonight so I will get final numbers up soon. Pics are below

I am also staring up my next run with blue dream(fat yields). They are just in veg but it will be a head to head with the Apache at600 LED I just used and a 1000hps(phantom digital w/ hortilux super hpsin a raptor). There will be a light divider to block cross over and we will see what goes down. This way there will be no differences other than the lighting...same veg time, medium and container size, co2 levels, nutrient lines, growth methods/training. So there will be no hiding anything and all the haters just sit back and watch.

intensity is NO WHERE NEAR WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE!
With LED, we can put the intensity at whatever level we want it to be, even in a micro grow. If intensity is all you care about then you should be using COB LED not HID.

There is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to photosynthesis, so unless you do not care at all about efficiency, there really is a point where more is not better.

They don't all look the same.

LED grows all look different depending on the spectrum used.

It's all HPS grows that look the same because they all use the same spectrum.

Don't get me wrong, we are at the tip, of LED winning the war, and yes I have owned a couple of different types, my best by far was the solar storm

With 5 watt diodes out now and waiting to filter down to us, there is also other light techs that are coming in leap and bounds, but for me the old Mh/HPS is still the best, but I feel will eventually fade perhaps due to cost per lumen to run say in comparison to led's cfl's or some other light tech

I said a pound with a 1000 hid is easy with 4 plants with a 4 week veg. Plant count is important. So if you want to end the argument plant 8 seeds, after germ put 4 under led and 4 under hid, veg for 4 weeks and flower. Whoever yields most wins. Simple.

Led is the future for the simple reason that hid has no useful purpose other than growing big buds and the govt will eventually shut em down just like the light bulb, gotta buy cfl now. Stadium lights will be led and so will street lights

I say the government will round up roughly %83 of the world population before this happens and throw them in FEMA camps... Their plan is already in motion.

Can you think of one non-obsolete application for 730nm other than grow lamp led?

HID has a purpose. It's street lights!
