Here's the only critter I harvested in 2013.
Deer here have had it rough the last couple of winters so I've temporarily given them a reprieve.
We've already started getting the "Bears in town" reports. Pretty mild this year & they are starting to stir already.

This year's moose season worked out rather well.
Early in the hunt I spotted a wolf on the tundra but he was apparently smarter than I ! After hitting my predator call he came a few steps in my direction (from around 800 yds), but quickly wheeled & headed out of the country.
56" bull & we came away with around 750 lbs of boned out pure meat. :weed:

Unfortunatly I didn't draw any tags for this fall - was really trying for another Dall Ram or Mountain goat.
Maybe next year.

Here's one to drool over, The Chadwick Ram.
The Holy Grail of Thin horned Sheep.

very nice man :)
Very nice....
Thanks guys, I'm getting all wound around the sprocket to go & it's only March !

Here's several years ago on a spring Brown Bear hunt.
The hunter is a sweet 65 year old lady that kept up with me for almost 2 weeks in the rain before she got her bear.
He's not a monster - a bit over 8 feet, but that girl walked at least 25 miles to get the shot.
She was a hoot too, kept calling me her "Tall drink of water".

so how does it work gwn? the hunter pays for a guide until a shot is made? Or is it by the day? Or what?

what is the rate for a guided brown bear hunt roughly?

Usually a block of days will be allotted to hunt, and if one is taken on the first day (A guides dream) then you get to fuck off, drink, smoke cigars and flesh a bear hide at your leisure.

The "Master" guide that I work for gets @ 20K for a hunt.
That does not include Lodging, Drinks, Food or Transportation - that's just the Hunt.
Typically when a good animal is taken the tip is between 2 and 5K.

I'm not in it for the $$ though (I've NEVER met a rich guide!), I just like being out there hunting and showing people things they've never seen.
