Ok.. Sorry, well as you guys know by now, I hardly ever get on here on the weekends. lol That's usually when I try and play catch up.. Either mixing my nutrients, or working with the ladies, you guys know how it is I'm sure. Been having some minor issues with the Shrooms. Cant figure out if I am suppose to keep it "wet" ie' moist and warm in the fruiting chamber :??: I suppose I am, being that's what one would think a mushroom would like as it's environment.. :??: So I have been running the reptile fogger, and keeping the water in the bottom tote at or around 80-84 degree's. Come on, someone tell me what I am doing wrong.. lol In my mind I thought it would be a tad quicker then this, being I have read a few places growth should take place in a weeks time. But could be up to 3 weeks, or 4. *Also, when the jars that has popcorn & wild bird seed colonize fully, do I plant or layer the perlite over the grain/corn :??: and then mist that :??:

Lookin sweet as hell Dank... Wish I could help ya with the shrooms buddy, but homie don't know shit bout that. Maybe one of these days when I get my poop all gathered back up and into one sock I'll order a kit and try growing some, but as for right now I got my hands full dealin with what I got. Sure wish it would it warm the hell up! This damn cold front that came through is killin the termp's in the basement, girls don't like it when the temp's stay in the 64-66 ish range with the lights on. Got a new wick coming for the kerosene heater so I can rectify that situation though...:)

I have grown shrooms several times. My first setup used a humidifier, it was tricky to get right and only produced a good crop once. I eventually settled on the "perlite method".

Temps are best in the mid 70's to initiate fruiting and humidity should be as high as possible or around 90%. But it should not be a "saturated" humidity... where there is so much that there is constant condensation developing and forming on the cakes. When I used my humidifier, I had to run it through a couple 2 liter bottles to dial it back and capture condensation. This is where the perlite method makes it super easy and simple.

It is just a cooler filled with about 1.5-2" of perlite with about 1/2" of water in the bottom. The perlite is so porous that the humidity is naturally kept at 80-90%. 2 bolts in the side of the cooler hold the drip shield and a hole needs to be cut in the top of the lid and covered in lexan or similar for light so they grow towards it. I never put anything on the cakes so can't help with that one. The pinhead mushrooms usually take a week or 2 depending on how dialed in the environment is and what strain it is.

Haven't grow them in years but I have the setup in my basement, i will see if I can get to it later and take a pic for you.

Morning.. Thanks bro.. Just been a little aggravated not being able to get a straight answer on how/why whats going on with the Shrooms.. I was thinking about just getting a few of those hospital pans, then layer with my medium, then pour the grains/WBS/Popcorn, even out, then cover that with a thin layer of the medium, then just sit that down into my fruiting chamber :??: Also, maybe you'll know this :??: With my WBS jars, ok when I shook them, they had some growth on the bottom, well all that split up into these dime sized balls. :??: Is that normal :??: Thanks for the tip on dropping the temps. Just hard to get it dialed in just right..

Thanks  It's like the longer she (K.A.S.I.) goes, the more purple she gets.. ;) and with he Shrooms, sheww.. What a headache.. lol It would be ok if there was just one easy way/instructions on how to get er done.. But there is SOOOooo many mixed methods, and all that, it just makes it hard to get/do it the correct way. lol Hopefully I will get the hang of it..

Thanks bro.. It's all good.. Hopefully I will get it under wraps here soon ;) lol I sure know I need to smoke up now.. lol And it's just 8 am... haha

I have grown shrooms several times. My first setup used a humidifier, it was tricky to get right and only produced a good crop once. I eventually settled on the "perlite method". Talking bout cold.. Its SNOWING here!! Damn I sure wish the spring/summer would hurry up and get here for good!! lol

OK cool.. Yeah I have a reptile fogger ran to a big ass tote for my fruiting chamber.. Was thinking about just letting my jars that's filled with WBS & Popcorn colonize fully, then pour that into a sterile hospital pan with my medium in it, then sit that into the tote to fruit under that environment.. :??: Think that would work :??:

that green crack looks frosty as hell. i need a smoke report on it as i have read the the green crack hits hard and fast, but doesn't last that long. they look great as always bro.
Thanks bro.. Yeah the Green Crack is that one I am running in my side by side grow https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/768184-dank-other-growers-side-side.html She sure is smelling super good and fruity.. I crossed her x's an OG.. So I am just waiting for the seeds to mature up a tad before taking her.. ;)

Was thinking about making a new thread here soon for the "TEST" grow. In case you may have missed it I will be conducting yet another little side test.. I will be using two set of the same strain. Using the new MOAB nutrients I just scored as freebies, then another nute lineup (Nectar For The Gods) I also scored for testing ... ;) So hopefully you guys will swing over to it once I get it up and going and subb up to it.. ;) I will post that link here once I have it going.. *Should be this evening..

Here's the pictures of the new nutrients I just got yesterday.. MOAB PIC_1180.jpg all for 12$ for shipping.. They even threw in some clone gel..

Looks like all that's left to do is prove if this stuff really does what all they claim. Been hearing of other growers clamming it will add massive weight to your plants, and its the BEST nutrients to use.. We shall see ;)

Dank,

I liked that post above....it nailed your problem, that you are drenching
your efforts. I have used both passive and active humidification and a
repti-fogger is a great addition, on a cycle-timer, but the best type of
humidifier for mushroom growing is probably the "impellor type".

BUT, probably the best approach, esp for those learning, is the
Shotgun Fruiting Chamber.

This is basically what the other poster suggested, in that it relies on perlite,
but you really will need air flow if you are going to avoid mold.

--> Take a clear tote and drill 1/4" holes, very 2", on *all six sides*, and
fill it will well moistened perlite.

That is it. Place your blocks/cakes on foil squares on the perlite and
mist the sides of the chamber if it gets dry where you are.

That is the safest/best fruiting chamber there is, IMHO.

Onward and upward,

JD
