Lights: 250w 6500k CFL with reflector (overhead 12") and 75w 6500k CFL (vertical 6")

Room: Closet grow 1.5 x 1.5 x 4.5 foot

Air/Fans: Low powered dual laptop fans

Plant: Mystery seed found in local bag

Soil: Specialised growing soil for MJ bought online (donated by friend)

Water/pH: I live in a hard water area, so i have to treat it. Usually about 6 - 6.5

PPM: Dont own a TDS meter, but am using pH treated spring water.
Calcium 63
Magnesium 18
Sodium 40
Potassium 9
Bicarbonate 323
Chloride 19
Sulphate 8
Nitrate 6
(All values mg/L , info from back of bottle)

Nutes: None at this stage

Temp/Humidity: No gauges as of yet. Will purchase asap

Days 1 - 4: Grown under friends HID setup while waiting forlights to arrive.

Day 5: Transfered to CFL closet. Looking to be about 3" tall. Has 6 leaves (2 big, 2 med, 2 small)

Day 6: Grew about 0.5" overnight. Sprouted tiny leaves at the bottom of its biggest 2 leaves, so they're starting to take on the infamous shape. I put a glass of water in with her because the air seemed a bit dry, and added the laptop fans because the stalk is a little thin. Also switched from a 24/0 light cycle to an 18/6 because the 250w cfl started making a high pitched noise after running for so long.

Current concerns: I am a little worried about having no air intake, but have taken the advice of a fellow rollitup member and left the closet door and room window open as secrecy isnt an issue. Also a bit concerned about the thin stalk, but hopefully the fans will help.

Thin Stalk...that be the 6500k bulb, you got to ballance your kelvin, too much red(2700k) makes a plant stretch and spindly, to much blue(6500k) makes the plant squat, I'd leave the blue light off for a couple of days lower the red light to 1-2 inches of the tip of the leaves, test the temp. first
Having a small 6 inch fan in there does wonders as it allows the plant to breathe and the wind encourages a thicker stem

keep the electrical shit above your waist, and water below, should you wanna toke that babe one day

good luck

I have some low powered 2700k bulbs I could add, but both lights pictured are 6500k. Should i add in some red? Also, are the lights too far away? I had the overhead lower, but a 250w cfl doesnt run as 'cold' as advertised, and the plant started leaning away from the light, so I raised it.

So I added some red spectrum (2 x 23w 2700k cfl) and took out the 75w blue on the advice of vostok. I also lowered the 250w to make up for the loss of blue. Hopefully I'll see some thickness in the stalk in a day or two.

The thickness just took time for me....idk it's where it needs to be IMO

I think the height is good now. I had it about 12ish inches away in the first pictures, which is a bit far (from what ive read)

I think im just gonna leave her for a couple of days before switching back to all blue.

For sure. I went all blue during my sprout and veg and she ended up a short bushy bitch haha. At 6 weeks from sprout I switched to force flower and she stretched like a mofo. I started a journal at that point if ya wanna check it out. I switched to mainly 2700k bulbs with 6500k sprinkled in there. Basically, blue = horizontal growth good for veg. Red = vertical growth and is best for flower. Looking back I should have kept a mixed spectrum but it's my very first plant and it's been fantastic to this point :-)

Also, I've always kept my lights 2-3 inches from the foliage as CFLs energy doesn't emit very far. Keep it close, a fan bouncin off a wall makin it dance, it'll be awesome

Soil type, nutrients, temps, humidity, Ph of your water, PPMs of water, etc, etc??? That will help a lot for us to make comments. I think the plant looks good for its age. My seeds always have a long, spindly stalk at first. It doesn't matter if they're under low watt CFLs, T5s, or HIDs. I usually leave some room to add more medium (in your case, soil...I'm a hydro guy, so I leave a couple of inches to add more rocks). Once they are about a week old, add more medium and watch them take off...BUT only if you have the conditions optimal...i.e. soil type, nutes, temps, humidity, air flow, Ph, PPMs, etc....

I'd be less concerned about the spectrum of the bulbs at this point. A 250 watt 6500k CFL will get that bitch going, no problem. Supplemental 23 watt 2700k bulbs will only help. I would not reduce the blue, personally. My $0.02

I have a pair of plants the same age, same condition. Held them to far from the flourecent but im with that guy^^^^^^^^^, if you transplant them at some point, just dig em in a little deeper. I will keep up with your grow, and see if mine will keep up. how long do you think you are going to veg them?

Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback! Ive updated the top post with the info requested by jcommerce. Ive never heard of water PPMs, so im off to research that, will edit again when i know what they are! :P

Her stalk got a bit more rigid overnight, so something is working! Not sure if it was switching to dual spectrum or putting in the tiny fans, but Im gonna leave her as is until tomorrow and then switch back to all blue.

@JoeD1rt : Im not really sure. Im thinking that Ill play it by ear. Since its a bag seed, ill just wait and see.... who knows, she might even be an autoflower!

EDIT:
@jcommerce I think I understand what you mean by PPM now and have updated the info in the top post accordingly.

Day 7: Named her 'Harley' and played her an hour or two of Mozart. It is her birthday after all! :P

Day 8: Switched one of the low powered reds out and put back in the blue. Her stalk is much healthier looking now.

Day 9: Her 5-leaves are growing in. Hoping for her 7-leaves to pop in the next few days.

Current concerns: Not too sure if I'm watering her too much/little. I always make sure a few inches down is moist, but can't tell if its moist or cold. I've been watering about 200ml a day and a spray or two so she knows what rain feels like. I know there's no exact amount, but does 200ml sound like enough(ish) for a plant her size in a 1-gallon pot?

Looks like you're a few days behind my new one. It's just getting it's third set now. I have one 23 watt 6500k over it. I've misted it everyday and make sure the top soil is moist

I found three seeds of Bruce banner over the course of like a week buying it from my dude. Didn't have much of a smell IMO but the smoke and high were one of my favorites ive experienced next to northern lights Alaskan thunderfuck and headband. I lost one of the seeds somehow dont ask, the first one I found is my girl that's in flower right now. Felt like it was meant to be haha. So this is the second and last seed of Bruce banner I have. It's starting out different than the first but I have been putting it in the sun when it is out and when it's not it's under the CFL. I think that is why there is significant stretch already to this one as opposed to the other one. But I've also heard males tend to stretch fast and yadda yadda? Idk it'd be sweet to have another female come from the random three I found. I took a clone off the first girl, and I think it is taking. It is under the red solo cup in a little bit of dirt and I used a root powder. I don't know how it's alive, I never though I'd be successful at cloning even once haha. I basically just keep that under the CFL and moist until whatever happens next happens. I think there are decent roots but I havnt checked for a while. But yeah my story haha. Im hoping to give my clone to a friend who us using a legit HID setup and see how this girl does. I've been thinking about upgrading as well. Just need $

Alaskan thunder fuck? I like the sound of that! Every guy around here says their smoke is lemon haze or amnesia, no matter what dirtweed they're slinging, so I've no way of knowing! I think she's an indica because of the broad leafs, but I'm not too sure.

Man, the first grow is exciting and scary!
