I am pretty surprised to see the Charlie Brown christmas tree turned out for not being able to go through it's vegetative cycle at all. Next time keep your veg cycles completely separate from your flower cycles as well as the lighting if possible, you'll have a much better turn out. During your veg cycle use blue spectrums for a stronger veg growth, too many reds will only confuse your plants and they don't grow as thick or as tall, it actually confuses the plant and if your plants receive more warm spectrums than cool spectrums during the veg cycle it will turn out scraggly. In your first couple of weeks, the yellowing you had might have been from the lack of nitrogen from the lack blue spectrum lighting, not the nutes.
When it comes to CFL's and Flouresents-
cool and cheap
Blue Spectrum(above 5000k) induces a vegetative cycle = Veg Cycle on 18+/24 cycle
Red Spectrum (below 3000k) induces a flowering cycle = Flower Cycle on 12/12 cycle
hot and expensive
MH (Metal Halide) is a cool/blue spectrum
HPS (High Pressure Sodium) is a warm/red spectrum
cool and expensive
LED's are a whole other beast that is usually both red and blues but can be set to shine at 5700k exactly
However Atown, nice job saving it! it actually turned out really nice, I am sure you will grow a massive killer kind next time!

mmm and some Atown Pizza sounds yummy right now btw
