Adding Soil and question about SodaStream.

I would put about a teaspoon of blood meal around the top then water, it takes some time for blood meal to break down and for ur plant to take it up so i would do it next watering

Ahh, thanks a ton, I will be adding that next, should I just sprinkle it on top layer of soil or add it around the base of where the stem is in the soil so when the water seeps down it will be more likely to bring some with it and become absorbed through the roots?

soda streams are brilliant for makeing soda water for misting the love the stuff been after one for ages

I misread or am not clearly understand what exactly you mean by been after one for ages, like a soda stream?
Or a specific kind of flavoring or additive you give to the water?

Its the co2 in the water soda water the plants thrive on it use it twice a day through veg and on clones get it has fizzy has possible they love the stuff.

Don't go out buying soda water because it,has extra thing in it like salt along with a few other things is not the same has tap water or shop bought mineral water put into a soda stream.
mineral water in the soda stream is brilliant because of the minerals all ready in the mineral water

I had one for years but the i could not get re fills so aint done that method in years,If you plants are growing in soil,and you have the odd root comeing out of the bottom of the pot a good thing is to get a tray get the water has fizzy has you can and sit the pots in it untill its no longer fizzy they will reward you for it telling ya great tool for indoor growing are soda streams.

I only ever really used it when i sprayed the plants during clones/veg,and then soaked roots for a few hours or 24 hour in fizzy water for there mid grow odd flush but change water once it is no longer fizzy take the plants out of the room if possible to flush with it,But then just do the final flush in just normal water even in soil have air ring in the bottom of the pots then fill with soil the add plant,they love the air from the pump makes a big diff to end result,get auto pot air domes if you can they work sound in soil,i use air rings in the bottom of my pots in auto pot,all ways have they love any extra,air

after one for ages,i had one it broke but i can get a soda stream system its the re fills i can't get any more tried every where in the uk,And the one's i did order from e bay came but did not fit the one i had but i have just remembered about them seeing this post so i will be after one

Put the plant's into there final pots,but only water around the base of the stem,or you will be wasteing nutrients.

Or if you have a other pot then get them into that, i would also try and use a riddled soil shop bought pref one that aint been out side a shop,you really need to buy soil that has been stored indoors.I only ever use two set of pots,one for my clones,that i veg up to be next set i take them at around week 4 flowering then by the time your plants in flower are done your next set should be ready to go 12/12 straight away or you might need to flower for a max of 7/12 days.

But you need a decent light like a good sized t5 for vegging,If i use my own compost that i have made my self from stems that have been blitzed and leaf even the trim once i have got all the goodies of it,and the coco from the pots i flower in,but i have made a large small hole riddle that does not let soil fall through,i steam it before use or just put the riddle full of soil over a fire to kill of any insect life,I all ways use my own made mulsh and soil in my out door grows. .But i would advice shop bought soil the soil in your pots looks a little woody,it aint had chance to break down right by the look of it ,so i would put them in a far more air'y soil once that has perlite in

I had watered it with a High Nitrogen Bat Guano will be posting pics after work tomorrow on the progress, took pictures of it now so I can give you the before and after pics. :]

How would I go about measuring the EC, I've just now looked up what it is, and found this article.

(^^ Which tells the difference between TDS, ppm and EC ^^)
There's no way I could measure with the method he's given, it's like a chemistry type of thing which I'm not too sure how to do what-so-ever, plus there's three different conversion methods in which are used differently in different parts of the world. (USA, AU, EU) Also, what kind of meter would be best for this kind of thing and wont break my bank.

Correct, but aren't they two different things?
Or did I misread the article, I'm unsure on these.
Can you determine the PPM with just knowing the EC or determine the EC by knowing the PPM?
I will be getting a BlueLab one eventually but from what it appears they're seemingly a bit too pricey for me at the moment.
I'll keep looking for more reasonably priced ones as the day progresses, hopefully I'll get lucky..

yea they are mate but you can work on either ppm,ec,or even cf if ya want there a must in growing indoor and out door plants.

The only time i do not use a truchen is if im useing farm yard crap in my outdoor plots,organic feeds are far more forgiving then the liquid shop bought nutes like canna adavnced.

I was learnt how to use ec has my guide but a lot of people use ppm's,my two indoor plants i have at my friends are on 1.4 and are drinking 10 litre day.

Big fat 50 p sized stem this is gonna be prob one of my best yet,and there only just in flower yesterday they look like bushes

I found my problem when searching I was seeing the $300 ones, which I can't say I'd spend that much as 150-200 should be sufficient for testing accurately and with a guarantee it's as accurate as it reads. I have found ones within a reasonable price range. Can you send me a link to some of their top tier testers, perhaps the one you use and swear by? If I purchase equipment I tend to pay what is required and then some, because from experience, you only get what you pay for.
Might I ask another question? Where are you testing the levels? Are you using the collection tray of water under your plants to check the PPM/EC/CF or are you using the moisture/water level within the soil? (How much would these two differ from each other in comparison, the tray water and soil held water?)

Any responses on a BlueLab pen would be appreciated I need one of their top tier meters for measuring PPM/CF/EC levels.
I'm also curious on finding out the difference between levels testing the drip tray under the plants and the soil where the roots reside, can anyone tell me how much these two would actually differ when testing the levels?

I've come across the Blue Lab Soil Meter, which is most likely what I will get.
It's a little more than some, but when it comes to this we want the best, no reason to have to replace it or throw it out ever as long as used correctly.

Has 5 year Guarentee for the meter, and six month warranty for the probe (But we'd replace theses eventually as they wear down and need to be replaced) The Meter could be a lifetime purchase from what I've read so far.
