I think we need to define "cruel and unusual". Punishment is just that, it's meant to punish. Some of these bleeding hearts would say any type of punishment is cruel. Is solitary confinement cruel? Is mental punishment cruel? Is feeding someone food they wouldn't eat if they were free cruel? Where exactly do we draw the line?
