I keep em green and feed em to the end but you are correct once the roots are boiled the plant does start pulling from the leaves. Here's the thing, that fermentation thing that we all like (the cure) requires N for it to work as the plant uses N to convert the sugars to alcohol. This is also why I leave the leaves on when I pile em in the chamber and yes they keep on pullin N from the leaves even then. The piles create a compost like heat and yes I rotate the piles around once or twice a day it is a lot more work then just hangin em

The 3 days under the lights gives em the energy to start the ferment process
I have heard of the increased heat from fermentation - something along the lines of the microbial activity of breaking down the sugars causes the heat? Do you think that this increased heat has any chance to degrade the potency? Or is that why you're rotating them daily? I've also read most of the curing methods involving heat cause some degradation of potency, but that might be more in reference to like fast drying in an oven or something lol...

well I made one of those statements in the 1st thread that my buds were one hit wonders, not sure I wanna be called something else besides a god over it LOL but no proper fermentation actually increases potency (fast drying not so much) the thing my chamber does is increase weight which I don't like to share because then all the black market growers will want one. This is all verified in the old Riddleme threads as folks visited and tested then posted here

"Those nugs were dense as hell and the T5's are over 2 feet away from the canopy, not a lot of growers could do that,,,,,,, c'mon be honest"

"I have seen a lot of growers grow big nugs, I have not seen anybody do it with T5's but admit that does not mean they are not out there. I never said it was groundbreaking !!!

Actually I stand corrected! You never said they were special but I do think it was implied lol. Sorry if I read it wrong, perhaps you were implying that you were special! Again this is what I read into it. That may be the issue here!! I dont want to be drawn into an argument about your knowledge versus mine, i would lose lol. I've been following your threads, and yes, you seem to have a whole lot of time on your hands lol. Its great that you have the time to read and try different things and post interesting links, but come on dude, you grow in a tanning booth lol. I would think a "breeder" would want to have a bit more to choose from when picking the best of the best for strain development? There are lots of breeders that do a recreational crossing of strains to see what happens but they IMO are not "breeders" as you profess to be. Just some people taking their hobbie to the next level. Perhaps if you were to dumb it down a bit in the newb section and save the more unorthodox teqniques for the advanced section you would be better received (hehehe), FYI I boiled the roots of my plants when I was 15 (a long time ago lol) but stopped the practice after a few grows as It was a giant waste of time IMO, and its hard to boil a hundred plants lol.

I come in and tell you how to get more potent herb
How to get more resin
How to push the plant for bigger yields
none of which is advanced or difficult to do
and all you wanna do is slam?
this is very perplexing to me

an experienced grower recently read some of my stuff and we had a talk about cool tubes and having the lights as close as possible. He was open minded enough to try removing it and see what happens, here are quotes of what he discovered,,,,,,

have seen the results of no glass in the reflector VS glass in the reflector..

A bump in yields! The first time in a couple years too.. thanks Riddle.

I know you are big on complete control.. I'm gonna keep adding pieces of your ways until I stop seeing an increase in yields and quality..

But yeah, I'm here eating my words.. I was wrong.. you were right.

I believe there are situations where glass might be necessary, but, glass does not appear to do the crop well.. from what I am seeing anyway.

I'm about to remove 5 more glass panes from another grow and see if the results are the same.

Here in Colorado, the dispensaries have a growers quota of 1 pound per light. I have 2 friends that learned how to grow from me that hit 2 pounds per light every time. They are doing very well since bonuses are calculated by yields but it is true the other growers are jealous and refuse to adapt or listen to them. It's ironic, but I wonder if there is some of that going on here?

Well I missed a lot ... Damn! Here is the thing ... I sometimes do not understand RIU. Someone makes a thread, all they want to do is share their knowledge and discuss "tricks of the trade". Thank you Hogbud. I appreciate people saying hey "this is what I know and how I do it" and then they let me pick their brain. I have not seen any attitude from Hogbud.

Ok do you chemical nutes or organic? Have you experimented with soils? What did you find? I prefer organic. I use organic just because, personally, I think that their is too much crap in stuff already, but that is just me.

I use chems, I am a control freak and the control in organic is lax, I do however have organic going outside in my veggie garden, compost and everything.

I use Jack's Classis Citrus FeeD 20-10-20 which is very high quality for chems. I use it all the way thru start to finish as supplements go I use DynaGro ProtK and an Alfalfa Tea.

and don't forget I add sulfur

Ok it makes sense. I make my own soil, compost, worm castings, ... It is fun and gives me something to do lol
