My weekend in the looney bin.

So I got out of the psyche ward yesterday. Oh what a fun experience that was.

I ended up checking myself in... for reasons... and it was just crap from the start. Long story short, after cussing out my doc for the 2nd time for being dismissive and requesting to see a different psychologist they released me against doctors recommendation.

I guess it's easier to write a patient off rather than offer them help that they requested.

Gotta love the American medical system :D

Dude. You need to find someone to talk with and work at getting that help. Even your screen name concerns me.
haha, My first band was called "the Nobodies". Ever since then I've worn the name as a badge of honor.

As far as help, I'm going to try and get back into the group therapy I was in last year. I'm good.

We all might stumble and fall, but if we don't stand back up then we deserve to sleep in the mud.

I'm almost finished with my BS in Psychology.. just a few credits shy of graduating but still have grad school to look forward to.. My reason for replying to this thread is bc I also suffer from PTSD. If you think our medical system sucks just take a look at the VA hospitals. In all honesty, your best bet would be to get out-patient care somewhere if you have decent insurance. I think all of my research papers have been about this subject and ever since our society started relying on psychotropic drugs is when our mental healthcare system went down hill.

[QUOTE="puffdatchronic, post: 10559774have you never watched 'one flew over the cuckoo's nest'?

You took a big risk going in there voluntary, once your in there, they can keep you there for the rest of your life if someone takes the notion.[/QUOTE]

I would think it would be far better to go in voluntarily....... than to be commited involuntarily
There must be different rules for each application.
I'm not talking from experience even though there are 2 mental institutions within 15 miles of my home.......damn here comes nurse Ratched gotta go !!!!

And hang in there.. it does get better. You need a strong social support system. It definitely seems like people don't understand sometimes and that's because they really don't unless they've experienced the shit that you have. I'd also recommend group therapy with people that are suffering from the same things. That helps a lot.. at least it did in my case.

If you smoke I have found Sativas make it a lot worse. For me Indicas work but it does keep me a bit on the tired side.
