How often and for how long does your exhaust fan run? is it too much if it is running for 30 seconds every 2 minutes?

mine is on while my light is on. lights off, i have an oscillating fan on for circulation. air movement helps with rust problems..

k so u dont feel there are any negative side effects of having strong airflow through the tent for 12 hours straight?

no, i don't believe there is ever a need to have a "strong," airflow. all that is really needed is a "gentle," breeze throughout the entire plant. you don't need tornado strength air, blowing your plants all over the place. you just want to keep fresh air flowing.

interesting thread, i have mine on 24/7 too, go through a lot of fans though, anyone know any that are designed for grow rooms that might run at a lower motor speed or something to stop them burning out every few months?

I've burned up 3 or 4 circulating fans cause I always get cheap ones($15) from walmart. My exhaust GrowBright 4" High Velocity Inline Fan has been running 5 years straight w/ no problems.

are you exhausting a room or venting lights? For room 15min off 15 min on is normal. For venting lights. Run when lights are on.

My exhaust fan does both>>> exhausting a room and venting lights

if you pull room air through the lights. run the whole time the light is on. If you have an intake , run 15 min on 15 min off while lights are off. otherwise you can run 24/7

Circulating fan is always on with an exhaust that vents the lights and room. The exhaust (6" HO Inline duct) runs on high during the day time and low at night. The exact setting during lights on depends on temperature obviously, but I'll also turn the exhaust up from mid-late bloom during lights off. One reason is to continue scrubbing the air (odor), another is to prevent mold.

24/7 here too. Burned up a bunch of oscillating circulation fans, but my inline centrifugal fans run 24/7/365 without a hiccup for years now.

I run mine continously with lights on, circ and exhaust on their own timer.

With lights off, I let them run a 1/2 hour ever 3-4 hours.
