I respect a lot of you as growers, but a LOT of people, me and lou included, had very extensive profiles, gallaries, and grow journals that took 3-5 years to culminate...not to mention lots of good grow buddies on Overgrow. When we lost overgrow we lost the most extensive growing resource in the world. I personally lost every pic i have taken, because i didn't store them on my harddrive. How can you talk down on a very skilled grower you have never heard of because he wants to get reaquanted with some freinds that were unfairly taken away by the drug czars?
Lou--I have grown with cfl's before, i know their usefullness, however i think you misunderstood my question; I was asking, If given the choice between 3 33 watt cfls or a single 100 watt cfl bulb, what would be better, because it seems that you favor more lower wattage bulbs over one stonger one?
Also i would like to add for those of you who think 20 to a pound is bad, have you ever grown a hundred pounds? a one pound plant needs much much more attention than 20 smaller plants, I have seen it done in some cali med ops but they had a full staff of gardeners, automated water sprayers, insanly huge pots, the whole boot. 800 plants is an insane amount of work, but i would guess it can't be more than half what it would take to grow 80 1 pound plants. Personally i am happy at the end of the season with 2-4 ounces per plant, and i have never ended a season with more than 45 females. i mean how many 1 pound plants would fit in a yard that big? probably no less than 20, to maximize yield in limited space, indoors and out sea of green is the way to grow. more plants=less yield per plant=more product per square foot. You wouldn't go up to an indoor grower and say "dude why are you growing 100 1 ounce plants so close together? grow 2 one pound plants instead!"

Whats the tub full of hyasinth for? lol indeed i am not here to cause trouble, just trying to say that it's not a bad yield, given the amount of plants per square foot, and are you saying those plants in your pics were 1 pounders? cause they are beautiful plants, but don't look like pounders either...
between 1/2 and 1+ lbs each. tub full of fish.

Works for me...
99 plants is what I'm allowed by law. With clones, mothers, etc, I'd rather get more weed from less plants.

The reason i choose smaller lighting is because the
CFL bulb can produce some good ultra violet very close up!!
MAKING FOR MORE TRICHOME PRODUCTION<believe me...
Bigger bulbs(cfl's)will only burn the plants never giving ultraV's.
