1000 watts, one plant, Critical KUSH 1LB goal

Hey guys I decided to start a new thread for my grow because I have changed pretty much every variable from number of plants, to ventilation, to lighting, etc. So I figured I would just open a thread thread and welcome anyone who wasn't watching before

My new setup is a single plant 5 gallon RDWC system with a 3.5 gallon side res for easy access.

It's been tied down and scrogged most of its life and she has a lot of shoots for some nice big buds

I upgraded my lights from a couple of LEDS to a 1000 watt HPS (less clutter, more simplicity, heavier yield)

pH starts at 5.6 and I let it swing up to 6.2 before any adjustment I use the Flora Duo line along with calmag, and BIG UP powder for bloom. I run Dutch master zone in my res and I've seen I credible strong new growth since

I made a DIY chiller out of a cooler, some copper tubing, and some ice cold water bottles my red temps stay at a steady 65 degrees no matter what the temp is in my room. Temperatures stay around 77 lights on and 68 lights off for the most part

She is on day 7 of 12/12 and she's stretching an inch everyday!!! can't wait!!

did the temps go up much after the light change ?

yeah man but they only get up to like 80 tops and my res stays cold. that's like 18 inches from the canopy lol I could probably back it to like 2 feet away if I wanted too

I just hope it's not like overkill you know? like I'm in a 4x2 space. would that 1000 watt be a big difference or will my plant get just as full under a 600?

I think a 600 would be just fine in that size tent i think thats the recommend max for that size tent...

but in saying that if you can control the temps then rock the 1000 you will yield more

this is what i think if the temps are 70 with the 600 and 80 with the 1000 you will still yield more from the 1000 but the higher temps will slow the bud growth a little

plants prefer temperatures in the 70-80 °F (21-27 °C) so i think your still in the safe zone!

I love 1000's but in that space I personally would use a 600. Either way looking great!

lol well my fans are really quiet man they aren't loud at all

and they go off when the lights go off which is 10 pm I usually don't sleep till after that!

I was reading a thread and saw where you said one of your plants got like within inches of the bulb and you had to tie it down

1.) how did it end up? was that cola way fatter since it had equal light on the sides??

2.) how much do you think this girl will stretch she's been 12/12 for 7 days ? think I'm gonna have to raise he light?

I find the cola's that are facing the light always end up a little fatter but really not by much at all you will notice but its maybe 5-10% bigger that's why i like to turn my plants 25 degrees everyday so they get even lighting well the best they can
Now i scrog i can't turn them but the scrog is by far the best thing i have tried if your aiming for high yield.

I find Indica's stretch for about 2 weeks then stabilize but then again if you got one that is more sativa them bitches stretch a lot but then can always tie them down




Are you going to put that scrog net back up or you going to just let her go wild... ? i think it will help with spread that girl out and help them cola's once they really start to pack that weight on



Also i used your fan on the shade trick and it worked awesome thanks a lot for that it's really helps drop the temps down a little

Hey thanks buddy I'm glad I could help! Pretty quiet too if I do say so myself no rattle over here! I just did some super cropping today instead of putting the scrog net back up. I know I'd get more yield off of it if I did the screen, but I feel like breaking these bad boys isn't gonna do me any harm LOL

I put in my carbon filter tonight too and I'll post pictures tomorrow

yeah man I have a submersible pump that I just drain out all the water into another bucket so it wouldn't be too terribly hard over on my end but still lol.

I have such a heavy canopy and like I'd have to go make a new screen and I've ben in flowering for 10 days now I feel like I could bend my way and break my way to a good even top!

Awesome new photos bro that stem is a good size your going to have some huge colas on that girl you will need something to support them later on down the track have you got yoyos or just some string will do the trick

my timer started stuffing up yesterday in my veg tent and went in when lights were meant to be on and it was off turned it back on went back 2 hours later it was off again don't think it will do much in veg just more of a pain in the ass then anything

need to clean my flower room out in a couple of weeks and clean the room make sure there is no more pollen floating around the room don't need my new girls growing seeds

that sucks man! and you're 100 percent right on that one, at least it's in veg and not flower lol.

and yeah man that's a really good idea give it a good clean cause pollen seems like it lives forever in any climate in any conditions lol. I thought I was getting hermies on a few grows and couldn't figure out why, then I got a new tent and didn't have a single seed so I'm thinking I had pollen in there from a male or it had better protection from light and had less leaks.... idk

and hell yeah man I'm glad to hear it man! as long as you chill your res or run some Bennie bacteria then dwc is the way to go man that g13 haze plant I had along with it looks like a runt compared to it and it's a sativa

also yeah man these stems feel really like lanky to me honestly not as strong as I'd like them to be. I ran a bubba KUSH plant that I couldn't bend them at all or they would snap they could hold an oz per stem lol

this plant just doesn't feel like that it feels like bendy and weaker if that makes sense


got any ideas? will it thicken up when the buds come maybe

Yeah it will thicken up make sure keep a fan blowing on it to make the stems get stronger also with age they get stronger
its odd the bubblegum i am growing the stems very bendable they are laying over the pot and wont snap but i have had some strains get top heavy then snap if i don't tie them up

I think mine went hermie from heat stress i was getting over 35/100 temps for a couple of days I find some fem seeds just can't get the that the stress as much as a natural female from a reg seed


I think maybe with the DWC because the growth rate is so far the stems don't get the time to get as strong till later sure you have notice but everytime you get new growth the stems are always flexable and a week later they go hard

i don't know if i even make sense at the moment been smoking to much lol

You know im gonna be here for this ride. She looks awesome bro already. Looks like you may need to do a small cleanup below. You know I don't believe in stripping the plant too much just to allow it to breathe more but next time you run a plant like this have your fan blowing on them as early as possible to help the stems be strong and supercrop early too. I always do those things just for strength.

Looks great tho and I know you will do a great job with her. Are you gonna scrog her? If not try to spread her out as much as possible to use up all available light. This gonna be an awesome run

I been good bro work had me swapped and then I hurt my back for a lil but I been good bro no need to stress. I'm about to start my new journal on the SinCiy test beans I got flowering and I'm finally gonna pop my Bodhi testers that I lost for a couple months. Don't ask me how I did that but I was so embarrassed to tell anyone until I found them yesterday so those are soaking now. Gonna do the final smoke report on the Blue Dream beast which I should've been done but all is well bro glad to be back too
