for seedlings and cuttings i use debco seed raising mix with some vermiculite mixed in
https://www.masters.com.au/product/900007305/debco-seed-raising-mix-10l

for pots i mix my own soil from what i can buy at bunnings/masters

my current mix is

20% Searles 5IN1 Organic Plant Food Range ( 30L dig in bag) (got mine from masters but they dont have it listed online)

40% cheap potting mix as a filler as the 5IN1 isnt designed to be run by itself in pots
https://www.masters.com.au/product/900007421/resource-gardening-potting-mix-25l

and 40% perlite which i buy in 100l bags from the local hydro shop as its a hell of lot cheaper than bunnings.

only just started with this mix but it seems to be going great
Bunnings is $25 for 25 litres lol how much u pay for perlite mate?

most people on this site (myself included) warn against using slow release, found out the hard way in my first grow that it can cause more problems than it solves

Yeah I've heard that to, although I thought that was just for seedlings not to use slow release :/ whoops. So far no problems with it but I might have a better look in bunnings or local nursery for a better potting mix without slow release nutes.

Do you add any dolomite lime in? Have you experienced any problems with pH from these brands?
just tested the ph and it came out a little alkaline (about an 8.) added a little sulfur to each pot should be sweet in a couple of days

@Grow4you Thank you! ^_^ What did you order from them? I'm looking to buy "Sweet Dark Devil" Saaah purplicious *drools profusely*
Your very welcome :)!
Yumm that does sound good!! I'd like to see how it goes when you grow it, I'll have to check it out on herbies :)! I just picked random cheap seeds this time because I am going away for a couple months soon n I think my brother will accidentally kill the plants when he looks after them as his never done it before.

Sorry I'm actually not sure if hydro is better/easier than outdoor. I think it's just another way of cultivating :).

Yeah outdoor can be a little hard for us Aussie growers, trying to hide everything and what not. Hahha ;)
