What's for dinner?

Don't we have a bigger dinner thread?

So tonight I tried something new. Our stir fry's have only been moderately successful in the past as the meat gets pretty tough sometimes no matter what we use. So I tries something new tonight. I marinated the pork with a solution of a couple of T of bacon soda mixed with a half cup of water. This is supposed to loosen the fibers of muscle that seize up in a fast cooked meat.

Then I rinsed it and put it in a marinade. I guess I didn't rinse it super well because the vinegar in the marinade reacted with the baking soda with predicable results. Lol.

We're going to eat it anyway. I bet it will be good.
 
On topic....cukes were on sale today, beautiful, perfect no blemishes, etc. So I figgered I'll make a Japanese cuke salad . the works seaweed, fresh ginger, scallions. I also had to get envelopes(stationary) and approached the isle from a different direction and discover a 6' X 6' section of the isle that is "shit advertized on TV" so I checked it out and bought the "Stone Wave"..a ceramic 12oz bowl with a chimmney lid for the Microwave. So what goes with the Jap. cuke salad? I 'm at the moment rustling up a beef/miso/ginger/sesame soup/stew using picado chopped beef. Still ongoing
