Definatley hairy like cobwebs almost. I haven't noticed it turning into gold colored but like i said i usually lightly work it back into the soil. Every once in a while a mushroom will grow out of my soil as well.
Oh yeah, it sounds like you have some very good soil going, full of life. That fungus is most likley a beneficial colony, you dont need to till it back in to the soil because it will disturb the overall growth and health of the microbe population doing so. Just how i go about it but like i say, to each is own.

Cool. Thats what im going for right. i wish someone taught me this ten years ago. I could have spent more money on lights, ventilation, c02 With all the money i could have saved on bottled Bullshit nutrients (most of them). I have one more question everybody i see that does this method has the fabric pots or Smart pots. Do they work better for organics or is it just preference. I know the science behind them. But i like my sturdy plastic 15 pots. Is it worth making the switch?

Yeah thats what your going for with organics. you indeed would have saved alot of money if you were informed. I bought bulk ingredients for my soils and i havnt had to spend money on soil in years because you can recycle it after use. Also if you growing outdoors there are natural ways to supplement your plants with co2 instead of buying the can and equipment. Dont know if it will work as good hell it might work better but its something to look into.

About the smart pots, to be honest i use them because they keep the soil cooler, airate it and drain better. I have a bunch but for some reason i dont use them very often. I didnt see much of a difference when i did use them, but i keep my pots covered so they arnt exposed to the sun. I guess it does just come down to preference other then what i mentioned before about the cooling. Airation and drainage

@anzohaze are you from the carolina area? If you don't mind me asking.
The only reason I was curious is my uncle that taught me how to grow lives up there. He grows some of the finest dank ive ever smoked outdoors on a big hillside in huge raised beds that are kind of terraced into the hill to make them even. Nicest outdoor setup ive seen on the eastcoast.
I try to get him on RIU but he's not the best with computers. Very old school

He's originally from Florida like most of my fam. but he moved up there a long time ago. He was kicked out of Arizona in the seventies when he moved out west to grow.

You got it bro. I grew up around boats my whole life. I actually made a good living in Miami -Ft.Lauderdale area detailing boats in my early twenties. Met a lot of old growers/Charter fisherman
my grandfather was an oceanographer. He was a professor at nova southeastern. They have a library named after him down there he was actually lost at sea a long time ago. But my mom actually used to take a Boston whailer to get to her bus stop everymorning and smoke a joint of punta roja on the way. She still grows the stuff.

He was just doing his part on keeping the oceans free of bales of "Trash". In the 80s down here in miami one or two of those bales would make it to Shore all the time. Usually coke or brickweed sometimes bails of drug money being sent back to the islands that didn't make it

I will never leave CA, unless the global warming moves me to Washington..
San luis Obispo, long beach, ventura, santa cruz, Monterey, big sur, etc, etc.
It's amazing here...
Now... if only we could get rid of about 10 million people or so...
