Couldn't possibly give less of a fuckshit what anyone says. This place IS live. How is is it NOT live? I've explained it before. Anyone who wants to have fun, they bring their shit here. Because, here is where the real, dirty, raw is. If you're one of those kiss-ass, happy, functional, fake-weekender-longhaired-hippy-douche-twats, you should take your standard-bullshit-mid-life-crisis-facebook-esque posts, and 42watt cfl grows back to the haven, where everyone get's a 'like' and a pat on the back for supporting 'the cause'. Take 10 minutes to read what their 'contiributors' in the polotics section have to say, and you'll realize you're swimming in 60 year old right wing pushovers....

So @SnapsProvolone had enough of the admin prejudice and odd alliances here and went someplace else to share his knowledge??? Wow, thats a huge loss. A straight shooter who bounced in and helped many. Probably doesn't matter much to those who already know everything. Now I see them doing the same thing to another guy who is nothing but a positive force here and an effective organics man who is constantly helping people with plant problems as well as putting in super pro bono work in the newb section. And, Uncle Puke is the consolation prize? Quite the business plan.

If you actually participated in the forum more it wouldn't suck. Make a thread, flame the sock puppets/trolls, spend time getting to know people.

There is a lot of truth to that and I agree that it is the only way out of this. However, it has occurred to me that people are far less willing to make threads and print content in the current environment. I know what I feel when I post a picture of my baby - happiness from all the nice things people said but it also exposed my child to be the target of one of the users who has become fixated on him. I am more than a little upset about the prospect of opening up RIU to find his picture Photoshopped.

So am I wrong by posting such a picture? There are those who will say I am. But if that is the kind of place this is going to be, why bother posting at all? If such a thing is not in keeping with what you want this to be; if you want to be able to "post a picture of yourself" without it immediately having a dick edited into your mouth - it is going to take some action from those on top.

I don't blame people for just leaving. It has happened to a large number of very amusing and interesting people in the last year and I expect that it will continue.

It's true @mainliner has boundary issues and thinks he's cute attempting to be a villian. If someone parades another members actual photo(s) around, they should be reported, warned, then booted if they do it again.

In addition, any creepy persistent references to another's family should be greeted to a stern warning and subsequent action if the offender continues. take mainliner's account away; then he'll stop talking about other ppl's babies, involuntarily, which is fine as long as it works.
