@OneHitDone I have a 400 gph pump and 1/2 inch PVC. Red clone ez sprayers and air stones / air pump. I run a 15 min timer on the pump

I think I could of gone with a smaller pump. But should have done 3/4" PVC

Do you run a rooting hormone solution?
Have you noticed better rooting with the pump on times cycles vs run constantly?
I am experimenting with a bunch of different methods. Flood and drain with the cuts stuck in hydroton seems to work pretty well too

just water and about 10 mils of pro tekt. 8 gal of water. I use the timer so the pump doesn't get to hot and the water stays cool. I throw frozen water bottles in there. They melt pretty fast though.

my first round was a failure. Then I added the air stones, and timer and then I got a 100%. I occasionally still get a cut that rots. For some reason it only happens in the 2 back corner slots

So your thinking the high water temps are the cause of the rot? What do you think of the pool shock treatment idea? I know its not organic but if it can keep things sterile and assure no rot issues it sounds good
We are definitely in different worlds climate wise. No amount of pump running is going to overheat my res here

If the water is too cold it will slow rooting. If your temps are high elevate the rest above the floor. If low insulate your rez a bit. It can make the difference w speed.

Bigger bins are good too btw. More water volume wins.

Just my 2cents.

Been using zone and root excelerator in the aero cloner. Threw out 35 rooted cuts before moving. :-(

I just run tap water straight from the sink. No aerating prior. Chlorine does the job. It promotes root growth too. I just add more water once a week. I dont change the resi ever. Its all water anyway.

if you already do hydro I don't see why not doing that method.

its a 27 gal tote.

yea on the higher temps. You want the nice medium between 60-70 degrees

I always get carried away tinkering.
I had a deep water bubbler type cloner going before and it was working well but then I started having some rotting issues. Now I put two and two together and it probably was water temp the way I had everything closed up with lights inside a tent and the problem starting in the summer time.
Then I was rooting in sand for a while and that worked pretty well. Then the hydroton. Then some rockwool lol
Now I have a hydro spray system running along side a flood/drain with rockwoo plugs just doing a side by side.
My main grow is so dialed in I don't want to change anything so playing with cloners is giving me something to do other than just watch the flowers grow

I tried dwc cloners before this. It was all failure. Water level and temp has ro be precise. You need a strong air pump and the 2 foot long air stones

My home made flood/drain with the hydroton is very reliable. Water temp is easy to keep in check. I just flood it once an hour for 15 minutes on a timer.
It is perfect for what I normally need but when I occasionally get a soil grower wanting cuts I would like to have a method with rockwool or similar plugs so I don't have to do any transplanting. Just grab and go

why do high cbd strain do so horribly indoor and yet at the same time do great outdoors...?

I think there's some hemp or some south African sativa somewhere in its lineage.

Not all,my 8 THC and 8 CBD Pennywise is very easy to grow and is a big yielder. This one went into flower on the 15th and is at least four times the size as when it started into flower.
Ive ran cannatonic, ac/dc, and sour tsunami x querkle. all finicky. The sour one was great from seed. Everyone loved it. The clone from it is just so finicky. I'd like to try earth medicine from bodhi but bodhi strains are near impossible to get these days. I still have a pack of oaxaca x querkle. The clone from that will probably do the same thing...

Even Subcool said to me and @Mohican at the cannabis cup last Feb. When I asked him about what one of my cbd plants did, His response was "Man those cbd's." He talked about all the problems he had working with harlequin.

Yea I had the Perkins cut of cannatonic and it was the worst plant I've ever seen, even changing the light source would send it into shock or might kill it. This PW I have is a dream to work with, easy rooter, light feeder, heavy yielder and tough. I had a 60 site aero cloner full of clones that got slime and it killed every clone except the 4 PW I had in it. I scrubbed the slime off them and transfered them to another cloner and they rooted and survived.
