Just attempting Qwiso hash for first time.. its white?

hey guys,

just had a little practace run at making Qwiso, I had my trim in freezer along with isopropyl alcohol 99%. Added the iso to the trim in the jar ( about 10g). Swirled it for 20 seconds, pourd it through a sieve into a jug, then poured that through a cofee filter into my evaporation dish. I have set it up in a box with an extractor.
the iso only turned a very pale yellow, I thought tho could be because of my quick exposure, I didn't want it to turn green.
as it is courently evaporating I can see a milky white residue forming around the line of where the iso sat before evaporating, I thought maybe I had beed ripped off with the iso and that iys residue from that?
I touched the residue with my finger and it smells of weed. I know good iso can be white.. But I didn't think id be so lucky on my first attempt.
also... There was a residue left in the filter that looks like skuff dust with a tony bit of plant matter, I looked at it with 100x scope and it looks like lots of trichomes... Why wouldn't of they disolved? This leads me to think the iso ain't all that...
I'm I bit confused lol.
have another load to run (14g) gonna do it next.. Just wanted to make sure this sounded right or wrong so farideas?

Also. When doing ISo hash I find straining first through cheese cloth works best for me.
Also just like all extractions good nugs will always give the best end product.
Don't swirl or stir. This just breaks up chlorophyll and contaminants.
Also dind see if your froze your ISo and herb first? I love ISo. Gettin ready to run some this weekend! But ice hash will always be my favorite. Best of luck!

iv got it sorted mate... I'm just finishing scraping my evaporation dish now. It like a white flakey powder when I scrape it.. It had dried clear... I have to scrape the white powder into a pile, then I heat th dish gently underneath the pile witha a lighter. When I do that, it turned to a golden oil, when it dries agai... It is rock hard! I have a whole blade full. Smells incredible, so hard to handle tho... Especially the white flakes. Been scraping for an hour or two lol. I'll take a pic of the small pile I have left and a pic of the blade.

Alright first the trichs in the filter are non soluble stalks and cystolithic hairs. They will burn and smolder, no bubble, very acrid harsh smoke with little psychoactivity other than residue.


The milky solution is also normal. Speading the rate of evap will bring the mix closer to an azeotropic balance. High cfm of airflow over the dish will do this. When it all dries completely it will be regular qwiso.

yeah awsome mate, i think i have cracked it! It was white like your avitar. Think its gonna be pretty high grade, was only a 15-20 second wash. I can see the filtered stuff is shit now. I tried burning it... Just turns black. This rock hard oil is where its at lol! To scared to smoke any lol. I dont really smoke weed, get to paranoid lol. All this is just experimenting and somethin to keep me busy lol. Does look very smokable tho... Smells awesome to.

it looks dark on the blade but that's just because it all clomped together. I was thinking of putting it between some parchment paper, heating it slightly and flattening it out into one hard, thin, clear amber sheet. Would this just be a waste of time? Also.. Would it mess it up by playing round with it to much? One more thing lol... Will all of the alcohol be purged out of it now? Would keeping it wafer thin be good for making sure there is no iso left inside it?
