First ever grow from seed!!

hi all I germinated a couple of seeds 46days ago I have a 250 watt 6700k CFL and a 600 watt HPS for bloom my space is small 65cmx80cmx8ft tall (not the smallest I've seen), my plants have been on 18/6 for around 38 days I plan on leaving them till day 60 then switch them over to 12/12 (9am-9pm). I know I have probably made some mistakes but this is my first time, feel free to add your own input any help and guidance will be taken on board... here's a few pictures

Add more CFL and keep them close. Looking really good. Topped nice at the right time.

I have a 9.5w which equals 60w cfl I did have it clipped on to the side of the pot ill have to go up there and clip it back on. Thanks for your reply hotrod harley

Forget CFL. Get you an HPS or LED. CFLs are like training wheels. They work, but......

I have a 600 watt hps but it's kicks out far too much heat in my space I did have a tent but house repairs have buggered up my space so have had to use a closet space (much smaller) I have every intention to flower under hps I just need to go get a 400 watt from the shop

400 watt HPS. I saw one on eBay that could be dialed down to 1/2. Like 200 watts, $100 or so. I wish I had gotten it instead of a 150. CFL generates almost as much heat. LED works too. Options. Do one of each. lol

Wish I had the money to get a led panel. I have seen a 400 watt at £22.20 (I'm in the uk) and then I have seen another one at the diy shop for £17.35 with 500 more lumens than the more expensive one I already have the reflector and ballast how do I dial it down...?

This is like what I was talking about. A dimmable 400 watt HPS. Do a search and compare. I only scanned over the info.

If HID wasnt an option due to heat, I would go T5 over CFL but thats just me.

Good choice with the 400 watt hps. I wouldnt go with an LED for anything other than veg myself. I used to have a Hydro-Hut grow pro 400 and it was decent for veg but, I dont know that it was really worth how much I had spent on it.

Thank-you @THCBrain ! Your sativa is looking pretty good too. I bet it will really blow up once you put it under a higher strength light. The plants vegging under the LED in the pic where from last summer and later moved and transplanted outside. Here is a pic of 4 I have going in veg right now. They are under a 600watt MH and loving it. You can find a link in my signature if you are interested in any of the specifics on my setup.

I'm hoping she goes up like a baloon come switch over day in 11 days time I also have a indica going I'm trying to leave that as much as possible so it's sort of the same height as the sativa hense the canes all round the pot would you suggest I fim it one last time?

Its hard to predict stretch but from my experience, strains that err more on the sativa side will stretch more often than not 2-3 times their original size once they start to flower. Most of this stretching will occur in the first couple weeks of flowering and subside as the buds begin to put on weight. Indica's usually do not have as much rapid vertical growth as sativas do when they start to stretch. If you plan on fimming or topping I would let the plant recover for 3-7 days before flipping to 12/12. I do not suggest topping once the plants begin to flower or less than a week before switching the photo-period.

I'm going to leave it on this first grow and experiment more on the next I'm not cloning from this grow as I have seen a northern lights x northern lights hybrid that looks like a nice stealthy strain to grow I have friends that have told me about the initial stretch during the first 3 weeks of bloom not sure if they're pulling my tinker when they say my space will be packed with bud but hey its something to aspire too...

^That is one of the plants that was under that LED light in the picture 2-2.5 weeks later you can really notice the stretch once it was put outside and started flowering.

British weather and a crack head living next door hinder me growing outside though I have seen a mixed bag of outdoor seeds selected to be grown here I have thought about a greenhouse grow for future but I'm happy indoors for now
