About a pound... Haha, j/k ;) Use both bulbs if you can, maybe for 18-20hrs on. I bet you get a decent plant, if you take good care of it.

I did a bunch of grows with cfls, with some great results. I had several bulbs (less than 150w) all around my plants. I found with the clfs my plants liked to stretch a lot, but you may have better luck with that size of bulb. I had some fat buds, some dense buds too, but it was hit and miss. Some buds were fluffy, some plants didn't produce that much. Got to get those bulbs as close as you can to the plant without burning it. I agree about using both bulbs, maybe one overhead and one on the side?

You need a 16 inch x 16 inch box x 4 ft high. Paint it flat white inside.
You need a 3 gallon pot and some good organic potting soil.
You need some perlite.
You need a fan to push the hot air out of the top of the box.
Autos are a great way to start out. Start the seed in a 3 gallon pot. In week 3 or 4 tie down the top (LST) so the lower branches rise up and are exposed to the light.

Make sure that you actually have 150w CFLs. Normally people think they have 150w cfl's and they are 150w equivalent bulbs. In actuality the bulbs are 40w bulbs. If it's two 40 watt bulbs you have then you will need two more.

To be honest I have found these CFL light bulbs to be a pain in the butt...mainly because they have to be moved all the time and if you're late the plant gets a bit of a burn. When it comes to heat problems four foot tubes win everytime. These t-5's etc don't put off a lot of heat and can safely come in contact with the plant without burning. I use 360-380 watts of daylight 4' tubes on my moms with never a burn or a heat problem.

Well I have 2 150 watt cfls. 1=6500 and 1=2700. 3 ft by 4ft box.
auto flowering plant. hope that's adequate
During seasons you can usually just let em sit on the windowsill and they do ok I would go 20/4 with the autos and making sure the whole plant is covered with light ensures a bountiful harvest remember autos are sensitive within the first two weeks so treat em well

I think CFL's are just fine, I am sure there are better bulbs and lights out there, but CFL's work although I would toss in some LED for flowering... My grow is all under CFL and the one I have flowering has mainly CFL with a couple of LED side lights... Can you get bigger buds with other lights, probably, but for those of us who cant get rid of the heat of better bulbs, CFL's do the job.] runt plant side bud1.jpg runt plant buds.jpg end of week 6.jpg

Quit being such a dick-they work just fine and probably have made buds the likes of which you will never lay your greedy little rich kid hands on-Why dont you get Daddys credit card and go play somewhere and let the adults talk about adult stuff-

i purchased an led panel from ebay and i think its crap ( maybe) has a bloom and grow switch. big green thing with a fairly loud fan.
We all live and learn... we buy what we can afford or sometimes think is good because of what the manufacturer says on the website, which we all know now can be BS... I have an Advance Platinum P300 coming Saturady...gotta love prime shipping on Amazon... There are some good threads on the site that go over LEDs, like this one: https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-grow-with-300w-advanced-platinum-led-grow-light.757768/ and this is the general forum for LED's https://www.rollitup.org/f/led-and-other-lighting.124/.... read through, some can be very helpful... I also used this to help http://ledgrowlightsexpert.com/ A mis of CFL and LED can be good for those of us with heat issues

It sounds quite easy to a new grower to just hit up the store and buy a pack of 8 cfl's! Other then that it just doesn't make sense to flower with them. It cost too much for what you get back, the bulbs and electricity. Of course they will flower plants at an insane amount of electricity oer gram, i just dont see why people use them?
