Hello, can you say a few words about the tape used in this example? What is it and is it good for long term use (1-3 year)? Thanks!

I saw these, rated for 95W and they are inexpensive, good brand name too, seems perfect for cheap active cooling:.........

With the 3rd pin I could wire a thermostat to run fan at ideal temp. Something like this http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/3455RC 01000245/480-3245-ND/1893843

I think maybe you need the B version of the driver to use with 100k potentiometer?[/QUOTE
Yep, well spotted, just checked my mouser order and it is the B version I'm getting
All good, the blue box is an AC electrical box which you might be able to find at Lowes for $0.25 ea. The metal thing with the holes is an AC -> DC 12V adjustable power supply to power the fans.Ok, i know this is an old post and all, but i'm basically going to emulate this and i'm beyond retarded when it comes to electricity/wiring and the likes...
2 questions : What is the blue thing at the bottom center of the picture? ...and what is the thing next to it? The metal box with holes in it..
Yes, you may now laugh hard and long! lol, sorry for asking what is probably stupid questions
Connot see the front side. I may have tried something similar and its base in center was too small to mount a cob like 3070 3590 or vero 29. Try artic 11. Good quality tried n tested stuff.I saw these, rated for 95W and they are inexpensive, good brand name too, seems perfect for cheap active cooling:

I'd like to thank all of you for the information and support on this forum. I recently ordered all my components for a DIY led build, and today I received my drivers. Only I have a problem, namely that the wiring of them is unclear. Maybe one of you already used this driver and can help me with this, I don't have easy access to a multimeter, that's why im posting here. The wiring of the driver doesn't match the diagram on the driver. I beleive red is still the positive side, but i have my doubts.
