DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Hi all, planning my first diy led build and due to cost/availability and much reading on here, have decided on 12 cxa3070's driven by 3
HLG-185H-C1050A's, will be mounting 4 leds each on 3ft x 4inch passive heat sinks, screwed to a light ally frame. The drivers will be mounted on a board outside the tent and there will be a normal air circulation fan running over the top of the light,

I could use some advise though, please

1. would i get enough light to cover a 4x4ft tent (this will be replacing a 600w hid)

2. should i get a mix of colour temps eg. 8 x 3000k + 4 x 5000k, as i will need to veg for a few weeks with these lights as well as flower.
(i currently switch fom MH to HPS 2-3 week into flower). If I don't need a mix which would be the best temp to go for?

3. What potentiometers are recommend, can a normal light dimmer switch be used? (i've already got some of these)

4. could the drivers be mounted in a plastic enclosure or would they overheat (i like the idea of a nice tidy box with just the dimmer switches showing)

cheers

don

I saw these, rated for 95W and they are inexpensive, good brand name too, seems perfect for cheap active cooling:

Ok, i know this is an old post and all, but i'm basically going to emulate this and i'm beyond retarded when it comes to electricity/wiring and the likes...
2 questions : What is the blue thing at the bottom center of the picture? ...and what is the thing next to it? The metal box with holes in it..
Yes, you may now laugh hard and long! lol, sorry for asking what is probably stupid questions

All good, the blue box is an AC electrical box which you might be able to find at Lowes for $0.25 ea. The metal thing with the holes is an AC -> DC 12V adjustable power supply to power the fans.

Hi everyone,
I'd like to thank all of you for the information and support on this forum. I recently ordered all my components for a DIY led build, and today I received my drivers. Only I have a problem, namely that the wiring of them is unclear. Maybe one of you already used this driver and can help me with this, I don't have easy access to a multimeter, that's why im posting here. The wiring of the driver doesn't match the diagram on the driver. I beleive red is still the positive side, but i have my doubts.

if you look at the google images for that driver, some are wired like yours, others are wired correctly. It should be easy to go to any electrical supply house and ask them to test it for you. If you use a voltmeter and hook the positive voltmeter lead to the red, and black to black, if the voltmeter shows negative voltage then you know the wire colors are wrong.

Hey guys, would the meanwell LPC-60-1400's work with these 100w warm white LEDs from ebay, or do I need a different one? I attached the power specs.

Tried searching the thread, still reading through all 107 pages. Hope to find an answer, as I continue to learn. I bought some cheaper LEDs for my prototype and I plan to build something with higher end crees next.

link for the leds in question: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100W-Warm-White-High-Power-LED-Panel-9000LM-100-Watt-Lamp-Light-/380515680644?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5898808184

Do you guys know of a potentiometer with an enclosure for the hlg 185 c1400b?

If I just connect the the two wires for the dimmer together, will that make it work at 100% without the dimming option?
