Just use the lowest branches and keep you big buds seed-free. There's no difference in seed size from bud location. I usually seed an entire lower branch on a small plant or maybe just in one developed bud. You don't want to wet anything first. If you use a little tiny paintbrush and the air is quiet you won't get too many unintentional seeds made. You will see some pollen stray a little, but if you use only one male at a time at least all of the seeds will be uniform. I leave the plants out of the grow for a day or two to avoid the fans and pollen blowing all over. I have made seeds using up to three males on one plant, but I'll make them weeks apart so there is an obvious generation of seeds ready at one time and then weeks later the next generation is ready. I'm doing that now with pollen from a TGA tester-strain called Purple Deathstar (Querkle x Deathstar) which I used weeks ago on 8-10 small plants. Those seeds are obviously plumping right now as they develop. This week I applied pollen from TGA strain Dr. Who. Some of the 8 plants i seeded weeks ago got zero seeds. To see ZERO seeds after pollinating a small branch does happen. I have two killer experimental plants which are from years of crossing stuff. One is from a clone-only strain-Urkle. Only made one seed and it was female. I seeded a whole bud or branch and got one seed. The other strain did the same thing. Made just one seed and it was female. Off a whole branch or bud on 4' plants. One seed. I took cuttings of those. Some of my best-looking new plants are the last and only of one to three seeds and I made no clones. So, I'm making seeds on them.Bonjour
I really have to take exemple on you and start making my own seeds next outdoor grow...
2/3 different male from reg seeds cross with 6/7 female from fem seeds cuts!
Is there going to be a difference if I use lower branches or top buds...or is it just a difference in seeds size...
And is it easier and of course safer for the plants around to apply pollen with a wet brush (small thing to paint) and wet the bud before too...moist not wet sorry...is it the good way...and I will have to keep the pollen for 2/3 month...where do I keep it? In the fridge?
Thanks
CU
My plans for the dank are to have a season's worth so i don't burn money on weed. I have three spots to cycle plants through. That seed selection may be impossible to grow out anytime soon. I split space between growing pure strains and growing the seeds i make from those seed-crosses. I just like growing weed. I've done it 35 years so I'm kind of a fanatic. The seeds didn't use to be readily available so i started buying seeds in case some lame laws come back later. Seeds last a very long time even sitting in a drawer. I have vegetable seeds too. I also reproduce many of those. And some selected, interesting, wildflower seeds that become endemic once planted. I like to grow stuff. I can't wisely do outdoor growing where i live now as it's honestly too gangster here. Usually i did both. Now, just indoors. What's your plan for all that dank? You can't possibly grow it all out right?
<To ALWAYS have a seasons worth is what I am after. Similar here with regards to seeds. Have a pretty big collection of cannabis seeds and an even larger collection of vege seeds (and growing). Not been at it as long, but my grandfather had a bunch of land he grew soybean on so guess it runs in the family. Grew up with cotton farms all around me. need to find the charger for my camera so i can snap some photos
but nearly i got all little ones starting to break ground,
just need one of the helper x querkle to catch up , but not all those had taproots when i put in soil after germinating them but I'm sure she/he will catch up in a day or two
all the gg#4 x querkle are taller are closer to dropping their seed and opening up but I'm sure that's the chem in the gg#4 parent haha
once i get these to 1 gallons of soil and start training ill try to decide what to pop next.. I'm leaning towards qrazy train, but lets see too much dank to choose from
can't wait to have this test run documented on here and instagram, my last test run with the hell's og x querkle i wasn't active in documenting and talking to folks on here and IG and such but its all good i am now getting used to stayed on updating things
everyone have a great day!
I do not know exactly, but i believe if you use a feminized seed-plant to make seeds it's back to being a normal plant. I have one "The True OG" from MMJ provider's Elemental Wellness in SJ CA which is a feminized only. It has won three big contests. It grows pretty spindly, but it has high THC potential and I plan to make seeds with Dr Who pollen on that and a 9 Lb Hammer which turned out to be a tall pheno. I didn't have pollen when i grew a Platinum GSC clone. I never bought it or tried it, but i grew some to see what it was about. It's the MMJ smoker's favorite of my six current flavors. It really is outstanding. The kid here said, "That's Loud." It stinks special and tastes special too. I was surprised. There's some garbage on the street here sold as GSC and it's always full of seeds. The young people tell me.You have plenty of time to do so, pollinate some reg. seed plants, not fems this summer.
That's the only reason i grow. Enjoyment. To have the best weed. To have weed. To share weed with friends and family and not be concerned like i just spent a $100 to smoke out with people. A lot of people here in the SF Bay Area CA have medical cards. Tons of people on my block have MMJ cards. I'm in a stoner neighborhood. Everyone has a card. We still smoke indoors and keep the whole deal on the down low as they say. No grow odors. And it's all personal consumption. Weed is awesome. I love to be able to share my abilities in the form of killer smoke that no one's ever had before. It's all unique and people really trip out on excellent grade, dirt soil, organic smoke. They can actually tell when they smoke it that something is different and it's better.<To ALWAYS have a seasons worth is what I am after. Similar here with regards to seeds. I am growing the half sister to that cross. I have grown the gluekle too, through veg but not to flower. Both definitely share that Querkle structure. That Querkle stud makes pretty babies.thanks for the link ! those are some nice buds, i can't wait to sex these girls
