For fuck's sake, Whulk, you need to pump your brakes! Ok, now you have a Homebox on the way and a 400W light with a Cool Tube, you MUST buy a good inline fan for ventilation. You will have to vent out of the Homebox and out of a window. Either that, or you will need to cut a hole in the ceiling of your closet to vent that heat away. A 400W light in that small Hombebox is going to be unstuitable for growing. You're shooting for an average of 80 degrees(hopefully even less). Without a fan that can pull maybe a good 150CFM(cubit feet per minute) you will be running above 90 degrees.

This is what you need:

Can Fan 4" Inline Fan - 142CFM - Imported Products - Cheap Hydroponics - Indoor Gardening and Hydroponic Supplies - (Powered by CubeCart)

You're going to need some 4" ducting with the fan, a flange to run your ducting into(either in the wall, window or ceiling) and maybe some aluminum tape so all of your seals stay tight. In addition to the fan, you might want to look into getting a carbon filter for the odors. Your room is going to stink bad during flowering. You must have a plan for odor control. They won't stink much during veg, so you have some time to work on a plan.

It's a lot of coin for a fucking fan, but your box will stay nice and cool, and with a Cool Tube reflector you will be able to get that light nice and close to your plants. Now if another member here has experience and success with using a less powerful fan with a 400W HID, please advise.

I know I'm advising that you spend a good amount of bread, but as your numerous lightning-quick purchases suggest, you can make it happen. I promise you that your box will be superior to just about any turn-key box of comparable size and you will have spent less money then buying pre-fabricated.

Great post! just one thing to add.
Vortex 4 inch 172 CFM High Power Inline Fan - Businesslights.com
you can get a great fan here for cheap $109 but if you get a cooltube you will need a duct reducer to fit either one of these fans.

See what I mean this guy just went from a pc case stealth grow to a full grow box, (400W light with a Cool Tube)
With some research he could have found other option of growing in a small grow cab with an envirolight much easier to deal with temps and humidity, less electricity....

How much money has he spend so far?
when one can turn a closet into a grow space in a few hours and less than 100 bux (not including seeds)

He is not ready, has no idea what his in for. Best case he just lost some money worse he gets arrested....

Fan
4" Ducting
4" flange for your wall, window or ceiling
Tape (aluminum kicks ass)
Reducer because Cool Tube is 6", fan is 4". The reducer is just an adapter. Not sure where to get one, though.

Umm, think that's it. Correct me if I'm wrong, Mane.

Bah, I'll still try and help the kid. A little optimism can go a long way. You're right that he's not ready, but at least he had the good sense to seek out help.

Whulk, just take one step at a time. You're in for a lot of work, my friend. If you're serious about this shit(not just buy-happy), you'll make it happen and be smoking your own-grown in a few months.

You guys are being very cool with him, not every "noob" gets this kind of help. I am just saying that his clearly wasting money. I am not trying to rain of his parade or be a dick. I just see this thing finishing babdly when if he takes the time to thinks, read, research he can enjoy the pleasure of growing his own buds.

Right, but i wish i had this help when i first started growing I wouldn't had spent so much money. But i did do my research. Alot of it.
You are right he's buyin at da drop of a dime.

I told him a long time ago to post a full planned out thread so pple can help him modify it but doesn't seem to want to do that.
All the money he's spent he could have gotten a whole grow kit for $500 everything he needed just about.

Dude you really need to stop buying things lol seriously you could have done a setup for much cheaper than that, mine cost me £20 thats $40 lol
ok so i was lucky enough to have an old closet that i didnt use and a friend that was willing to give me an air con unit and another friend that sold me his 600w hps + spare bulb for £20. but you can do so much more with the money you spent.

Seriously dude just take in what ur reading and do some research!

I'm new but those are only 23w cfl's when you say 100w that means they only put out the average amount of light that a regular light bulb puts out. Those bulbs only put out about 1100lumens.

Please don't say 100w cfl's you really confuse people when you say that. You made it sound like you have 600w of true cfl's you made it sound like you had 30,000+lumens of light

Someone feel free to correct me on this though.
to get that amount of lumens are you adding the lumens of each light? by putting 2 of the same lamps next to each other you dont double the lumens, as the light thats been emitted is the same wether theres 1 or 5 it just covers more area

Peace :joint:
