8 ) 3590's 2 ) HLG 120 1050's would give you a cob per square foot and at 61% efficiency a PPDF of 1,024. Not the cheapest route but legit for 300 watts... :)

I wouldn't. 2 drivers would be far less voltage running through each which makes things safer to work with. If you have 2 drivers and one goes down, at least you've still got light in your grow space until you replace the other. Having 2 drivers also gives you more flexibility as in, you might only want one set of cobs on during veg or you can take one set of lights and move them to another area. Can't do that when everything is hooked up to one driver.
Running all 8 CoB's on drives each CoB at 50W = 400W per panel. A lot of light and CoB's are running nice and cool and last for five years. Buy a backup driver and keep it ready, if that helps. More CoB's running at lower wattage is more efficient and plants like it too.
peace.

There are three drivers you can use immediately. The HLG-185H series . Look at the C700, C1050 and C1400, The C700 will run your 36v Cob's at 350-700 mA running at the 64% efficiency. Using the C1050 you can run between 500-1050 mA. for 56% efficiency, or you can use the C1400 for 700-1400 mA for 46% efficiency. I am using the C1400. The C1400 can drive four Cob's 71v-143V. it takes two drivers to run 8 Cob's either way with any of the 185H drivers. You can use higher rated rivers such as the HLG-240H-C1750 or the HLG-240H- 2100 both provide higher amps to drive your Cob's harder. The C700 drives them the softest, and the C1400 drives them harder. The C1750-C2100 will drive them hardest. Soft indicates cooler temps, and harder indicates higher temps. I hope this helps. peace. I like t use 18 gauge solid core,a s it delivers amps best. I also use braided for remote wiring of drivers and power supply's.
THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE JUST GOT IT ALL TO CLICK FOR ME. I've been missing the link in my brain to put it all together as far as understanding all the elements of led. This post just turned the light bulb on. So thank you.

Ok I've decided to bite the bullet and spend the extra cash for the 3590s 36v 3500k instead of veros I'm going to run 2 set of 4 on a hlg-120h-c1050b drivers. Now that I've settled that I have to decide weather to run lenses or not. What's the general ideas on lenses are they worth it. Will they provide better penetration

It was my understanding, that the simple glass lens, is best suited as it keeps moisture away from the cob itself. Dude, your build is literally everything I've been trying to figure out for myself. I'm going to be building pretty much the same setup once I get that cashflow right. I'm following this thread so I can keep up with its progress n whatnot.

Ya I'm waitin on tax return now to buy everything. Then I'll be puttin either three plants dwc in the 2x4 or 8 plants in soil. I have a bunch of different strains I just need to decide which one to run

Everything finally bought with the exception of the two drivers because they are on back order but I'm gonna put the whole thing together and wire the drivers in when they get here
