AUTOMATIC AK - First grow - Indoor

15th Feb (Day 58 Flower) - Chopped the rest of the plant I took a sample from. Pulled it out of the tent last night before lights on and left it about 18 hours in the dark. Took me about an hour and a half to trim, still need to tidy it a little, but as I said its for personal use so not to bothered about bag appeal.

Not got a clue how much is there really, it's hard to tell. Just gunna wait for it to dry and weigh it rather than guess, but feel free to post any thoughts.

Smell wise it's got a sweet smell to it, smells abit citrus like.

Got no flash on the device I used to take the photo and the lighting isn't great but they do look frosty.

This was the smaller out of the 3 that were inside the tent, the others were also frostier. I've moved the one that was outside the tent back in for the last week hopefully fatten it up a bit.

I've put the trim into a bag and put it in the freezer, I want to try make something with it, maybe hash or butter, but need to look further into it. I want to do whatever is easiest with the trim, so, if anyone's got any ideas please share.

looks good. maybe try making some iso hash (easiest) or if you have a little more time some bubble hash(easier, but takes more time). Butter is always cool, too.

16th Feb (Day 59 Flower) - Gave final water. 2.5L each.

Now there's room outside the tent I've positioned a fan better and it's helped with temps. Just shows how important space is. Should of really thrown one or maybe two out, but didn't want to with it being my first grow, would of felt I was losing out.

The buds on the one that were outside are really airy, most of it will probably go into the butter or whatever I decide to make.

Will get some good quality pics before I chop.

i like the butter vs the coconut oil based on flavor. 2 major things to check out when making butter is soy lecithin and decarboxolate (decarb). Sorry, don't mean to sound like a know it all. I prefer brownies, but add a reese's peanut butter cup per brownie to hide the weed flavor. If you've never had weed butter, it can be a strong flavor if you can't tone it down with another strong flavor like peanut butter. I made red velvet cake with it once and it was pretty hard to eat.

21st Feb (Day 64 Flower) - Chopped another today. Pulled it out before lights on. Buds look better than the first. Smells stronger, really sweet smell and very sticky.

Decided to let the last two run for another week. Figured it'd be easier for drying space wise. The last one that's been in the tent for the duration is looking really good despite the n tox a few weeks back. Gave 2.5L of water.

I'll try get some pics up this week of the remaining plants and my makeshift dry box.

:clap:Very nice mate, and looks like gonna av juicy buds

I put like a wet q of larfs behind the ps4 on the night and normally by morning it's crispy dry... Keeps me off the others until they are naturally dry enough :weed: And better buds to taste properly :lol:.

The trimming normally I dry it up then stick it in freezer bags...

Then after a day or two u crumble em in the bag and give it a shake.. Normally all the crystals drop to the bottom of the bag.

If you have a grinder with crystal catcher drop it through the siv and same with the leafs but give em a little rub not too much so less leafy bits get sivd

Then you have shut loads of crystals and you can dip your buds before sticking em in the grinder :bigjoint:... Or make some hash in the oven:lol:

Right under the fan is good.

I chopped Painkiller last night aswel, I felt bad putting her thru any more days lol and I'm smoking all the popcorn for next few days untill the proper budds are dry

2nd March (Day 74 Flower) - Been awhile since last updated. I've watered them twice since, 2.5L each with no nutes.

Some info on yields..

First plant I think I cut a little early, dry weight was around 24g, buds were airy, smoked a little of it and it tasted ok but very weak. I'll either use it in something or give it away.

Second plant was ok, buds a little airy again but better than the first, dry weight was around 33g, smoked a lot of this one already and it does give a nice couch lock feeling. It smells nice and sweet.

2nd March (Day 74 Flower) - Today I chopped the top of one of the last ones, used an old pot to sit the pot on to bring the buds left on closer to the light and looped a string around it lower down to pull all the branches in and raise them slightly. It's not pretty but they're closer to the light. Gunna see how they get on over the next few days.

Buds look much better....

Final update

Ok, so had to go away for a few weeks leaving the bottom half of plant 3 and the shitty one without attention. Managed to get someone to chop the remainder of the 3rd plant but the last one was fucked. Bit gutted I couldn't picture and report up to the end.

Pulled about an oz off the 3rd plant, better quality than the 2nd. Still plenty of room for improvement. 4th plant is going into hash, didn't even weigh it. So got around 3oz of smokable bud in total.

I'm happy with the results and confident going into the next grow that I'll get some better bud each grow.

Hopefully some other new growers can read this and not make the mistakes I did.

Thanks for reading. Keep an eye for my second grow, be starting this weekend.

I'm running AK too, how come yours looks like its more sativa? :-?
