Rapid Rooters moisture

I've been using rapid rooters to germ seeds, and finally got some to pop roots. Once they start peaking their heads out, after I transfer them into containers with soil, do i bury the rooter under the soil? Will it decompose? will I have to change how much i water since it will presumably hold a lot more water than the soil it's transplanted int?

A lot of questions. But instead of googling them individually maybe a few of you can spark a debate... or just answer them.

Them things usally sucks I try and rip them and put the plant out if there a nice root on there because they don't decompose but I just overall never liked them

Rapid Rooters are neat little things.

Just pop it in the soil and cover your seedling all the way up to just below it's first leaves. You'll be fine soon enough as your plant begins to expand, just mind not to over-water.

I'll 3rd the vote for Rapid Rooters! They work well for cloning too! Just remember to clean the tray with a weak bleach solution after each use so as not to get any algae/slime build up that will slow or kill clone rooting.

Got about 6 seeds that are rooting in them right now. I just move me into solo cups when I see roots?

My tent/lighting only allows for maybe 2 plants in 3 gal containers. Gonna be hard to decipher which ones to keep. Considering I don't know the strains or sexes =(

Why would you rip them open? You can just plant them right in the soil....you should not be giving advice.

I usually plant mine once the first leaves pop out, and generally at that point the tap root will thru the rapid rooter. Rapid rooters are by far the easiest way to germ and transplant your seedlings imo, if used them for years to germ my seeds.

Because I don't l like them things sitting in the soil and I don't let them grow all though it normally just a single small root and I can rip it open and transplant it fine, I just don't think they seem to grow as good through them things as without them, just my personal preference

I use just cups don't use paper towels, and I don't use them rapid rooters anymore they were junk I did better in a cup and putting them in a solo cup when they get a nice root on them, but that was my first and last time ever using them things

Ugh..lol.This thread is about using rapid rooters...not about cups or paper towels.Do you actually have something useful to add to the thread or is "I dont like them things" the extent of your knowledge on the subject.

On the topic of rapid rooters. I like them, although they can develop hydrophobia every once in a while, I need to make sure these things arn't drying up on me right now!
