I think you can tell by looking through my post history in this thread and elsewhere that I don't have a lot of beliefs in common with the folks being threatened. I'm a card-carrying, Sanders-campaign-donating, bleeding heart liberal weenie myself, so in many cases UncleBuck and I share the same beliefs, if not necessarily the same concept of how to express them.

But the idea of trying to ruin someone's real life over something they anonymously posted on a fucking pot website really flies in the face of the concept of free speech and expression. I get that part of the 1st amendment is the consequences you might face by being an idiot and saying something stupid in the first place, but in this case, we're talking about a private message board, not a public forum. I think there needs to be a line drawn and some more tolerance shown towards differing beliefs, no matter how ignorant or archaic they may seem.

No. That's what the students were pissed about. They wanted him to act. There was nothing to do. They went ape shit. He quit.

They're destroying a great university.

this is more of a personal matter, unclebuck has been extremely butt-hurt for many months
he follows me around the internet like some love sick puppy begging for my attention
makes various accounts on other sites and uses sock puppets

he is harmless he is too stupid to be able to do anything of any real harm
although this does show again how he lacks any kind of integrity

do not be afraid of him, just think of him as a child stamping his feet and making lots of noise because he did not get his own way

He was fired. The players threatened to boycott the upcoming Notre Dame game, which would have cost the University over a million dollars. He was effectively fired. He was allowed to quit. Nobody quits when they've done nothing wrong.

It has nothing to do with being afraid and everything to do with being disappointed in how some folks deal with opinions which conflict with their worldview.

the 1850 census i am looking at shows that your family owned a lot of slaves.

the other possibility was that the hackett house was a party house with a lot of black people just hanging around and partying.

but i don't think the latter is as likely as the former.

you can probably track down the descendants from the ancestors and restitute them, since you owe your family fortune to slave labor.

Forcing the resignation of an inept administrator is hardly destroying a University of Missouri. The competition for his job is fierce. A lot of good candidates will show up, maybe they will bring some new ideas. It's pretty clear this guy had none.

It was BYU not Notre Dame. Yes they threatened. But no, he wasn't fired. He resigned. I'm sure he would have been fired if he stayed for a long time. But that didn't happen.

But yeah, people who haven't done anything wrong quit all the time when the bullshit is more than they want to deal with when they already have plenty of money.

The Government did it to themselves and sets the example of how it needs to be done. So nice of them to care who qualifies or not as long as it`s colored and looks diverse.
