No that was the old cheap ass $20 hps You really need to make the step up to hid you will love HPS. Once you dial it in you can do some fun stuff even with cheap bulbs. Only reason I got the Hortilux is because I want to see if I can get even better quality in my herb. And I have a little nanolux OG 400 ballast that is digital and had a dim feature. And you can get em for like $100 Happy 4/20 @UniDragon
Just got a 400 watt Ultragrow ballast and a Plantmax HPS bulb for my 8" cooltube yesterday. In the event that things don't pan out with The Tron, I will be making the switch to grow out my last H.S. with it. I am still waiting for H.S. #4 to sprout a root so I can drop it in The Tron, but nothing as of yesterday. I had HOPED that it would have been ready yesterday but it wasn't so I am still waiting. It's nice to know that you grew that with a HPS. I bought this system mostly because of your post regarding your Hortilux HPS. I am certain that Hortilux is a much better product than Plantmax, but hopefully this will be a good learning experience for me once I get this "dialed in". My plan, as of current, is to give The Tron one more stab and then if it fails again then I make the switch.

Nice. Believe me you will love what you can do with HPS. When I started growing I had a little 150HPS and did ok but the buds were not dense and really not all that good. But when I moved to 400 watts it opened up a new world for me. The quality went through the roof and my yield is always good, some strains are better than others (the HS is one of the biggest auto I have ever seen) but overall I am very pleased with my HPS and I think you will be too. I hope your seed pops.

Funny cuz I started with two, 4 foot, 2 bulb t12 shop lights lol. Grew some airy ass mexican brick seeds in '07. Upgraded to a 70 watt hps and a couple 42 watt cfls in addition to the t12s and it got better, but the biggest improvement was definitely when I finally got my 400. Now I want a 600 or a 1k tho :/

Yeah I remember that pic. (: gotta say seeing how you did with her without topping inspired me to go that way with her myself. (;
Yeah I generally never top auto's. I know it can be done but I just like to let them do their thing. Now my photo plants, that's a different story. I love to prune them, top them chop them, bend them, all sorts of rough play and they do very well but. for auto's i just let them do what they do best. Can't wait to see some donkey dicks. Good luck bro

Yeah I started with some shitty bag seed too lol. Now I'm interested in the 315 watt CMH and some COB led stuff that is coming out is cool too. DE are also cool but I'm trying to drop temps and I would imagine they run hot.

I been thinking about putting a 600 air cooled in my 2x4 cabinet with a couple with the uva/uvb t5 bulb.

I really like the 400 cmh or 315 lec. Although a 600 watt 10000k MH would be incredible in a 4x2. My space is 3x3 right now and I have 470 watts. I'd love a stationary 600 at the top with t5s on the side like ur talking about whitebb.

I get sick of moving lights lol

LED is a whole nother discussion lol I could definitely see myself liking them for a little less money upfront :)

I have been looking at the 315 lec. That seems to be good on electricity and heat, both concerns of mine.
Concerns of mine as well. The lower the temp, down to about 68, the better IMO. Im able to keep my Temps below 80 pretty easy, but I'd prefer 75 max. Saved electricity is like profit too and thr 315 has a great spectrum as well..

So I just wanted to give you a peak inside my tent. These are my photos that are going right now. The two big ones are afterlife from Illuminati Genetics I also have a dinafem cheese a seedsman skunk#1 a seedsman exodus cheese and a grandberrypurp a cross of cherry bomb and GDP from the now defunct DNS Genetics. When these are done I'm going to fill this bitch with HS.
