The ultimate test of a nation's maturity and compassion is how it treats those who are the most vulnerable.
Israel fails this test in spectacular fashion.
It's an apartheid state; even non Jewish Israeli citizens are considered second class, and citizenship is no protection from abuse if one has the misfortune of being of Palestinian heritage.
Again, @a mongo frog and any others who are of Jewish faith or background, I'm not indicting your religion. The Jewish faith itself has nothing to do with it!
My condemnation is very specific to the country's government and its military, which operates with complete disregard to the human rights of targeted classes.
Worse, it hides behind its religion and historical pogroms to deflect, deny and even justify its wildly unacceptable activities, with repercussions that spread worldwide.
As a man of the Jewish faith, I would think you'd be even more upset about their behavior in the name of your faith than even gentiles.
