I'll use my vote for its real purpose- which is not to choose which uncaring overlord gets to run the country for the benefit of those who would continue to exploit me.
Well Chomsky, that does address the issue my inflamed friend. It shows how one should value their own time. It's not my responsibility to value you and determine what you are worth (time value of money because time is money and I value my time) You get paid relevant to what you bring to the table. You are getting low balled, either you bring nothing or don't understand the rules that society is playing by. What is it that burger flippers, grocery baggers, waiters do that bring value to anyone outside of you at that instance when you needed a fork. If anything, this corporation brought in extra people, at an extra cost, so you would come visit. McD can pay better wages if each store cut Labor in half. That would mean long waits, precooked (more than usual) to keep up demand but slack quality, or cook to order which would better quality but drive wait times.
Im getting the feeling you don't know how business works or have not been in a management position because this is business 101, how not to fail immediately and go on welfare with a wife and children to support while owing creditors for the start up, over head, insurance, fees, licencing, signage, labor cost, inventory cost, utility cost, transportation cost, marketing cost, advertising so people know you exist.
Just like all the other stickies outside the noobie zone (I am a noob at growing). Go read something before you start posting because this is like arguing Red with a color blind person.
Life is real easy when you don't have any responsibilities. This also means you have time to build definitions for things you don't know about while others are actually learning the inner workings.
Show me how much you care about poor people by throwing away your computer, smart phone, Jordans, disconnect the internet and turn off all the power and burn you cloths because there is no "made in the 1st world" sticker on any of that. Middle eastern oil for your car, assuming you cannot afford a Prius let alone a Tesla, African precious metals, Chinese assembly labor, Indian circuit boards.
India, materials are expensive and labor is extremely cheap. Why? there are 1,000 people to replace a single job.
Hell, you are not even the one they are trying to exploit. They just need to make a sale so they can continue exploiting 3rd world countries. Wal-Mart has no problem filling positions and everyone that applies there knows it's crap. Here is what they offer besides money: easy hours, flexible hours (open 24hrs), 401k (it is money but not take home), INSURANCE.
Insurance drove the cost of labor out the fucking window. Does a healthy 22 year old need the same health insurance as a 70 year old? You answer that for yourself, but pretend this decision affects you too
