First Attempt at Cloning Fail..

These clones have been in a king cloner for about a week now, no nutrients have been added to the water. The water was filled up to the sprayers along with several drops of bleach/gal and two drops of thrivealive green. I also added one cup of hydrogen peroxide to the solution for added o2, probably not necessary but am wondering if this caused the problem? Do they need a humidity dome?

They are under two 32w T8s, 24 hours of light and the fixture is 6-8 inches above the canopy. Any help would be appreciated! Guess I'll go back to popping seeds for now..

Did you FIM your clones? They look really weird and not because of the discoloration..

Just leave them. they will root eventually........

and you really should think about using a clonex solution and hormone dip before you put them in the cloner.

I have never used bleach in the cloning solution with hydrogen peroxide.Also thrive alive you used is highly concentrated it also states Thrive Alive B-1™ Green can be applied as a soil drench, rejuvenator, or as a foliar spray. As a soil drench, when taking cuttings and in conjunction with Rootech Cloning Gel I'm guessing you did not see this.
When it gets cleaned after the end of the round it is with bleach water and rinsed.

Idiotguide to cloning fool proof just make sure to follow steps

1. get a plastic solo cup, burn holes on the bottom to allow drainage
2. Fill cup with plain coco - do not add anything to it but tap water, make sure the coco is completely wet and dig a hole to insert cutting
3. Take cutting with a disinfected razor or pruning snips
4. Insert cutting in to hole, make sure all parts of burried stem is in touch with the wet coco
5. Place plastic baggie over clone (use a rubber band to keep it in place)
6. Keep bag on for 3-4 days then remove.

MISC: after a day remove the bag for 5-10 mins every 6-8 hours. Removing the bag for longer periods each time( this forces the clone to create roots as the leaves are not in a high humidity environent) if clone wilts spray plastic bag and cover again

You can speed the rooting process by using rooting hormones.

DO NOT directly mist clones after day 2 as this only delays root development.

Try to keep the grow medium warm and the plant away from direct light

By the way i tried a diy bubble cloner and other methods and could never get clones to root even gave up trying. Then i had this plant that i had to keep and saw a thread of how easy it is to clone in coco, tried it worked and have never looked back.

BURRY THOSE NODES!!! Scrape the sides of the stems a lil thats where your roots are gonna come out of jc

And move that light back you plant butcher they cant use all that light intensity as they have no roots yet.

I just did my first batch of clones ever in my turbo kloner.... 4 different strains...tap water no ph with some clonex liquid...1 week for nubs...this week I switched out the water and put in some orcha for another week to make them pop....easy peasy...

while I think this is great, its an awful lot of work.

all I use is RO water: Clear-Rez, and clonex-solution, clonex rooting purple goop.

cut your veggie(ninja slash angle): hold in hand, cut leafs, peel a bit of the skin from the top of your cut, dip in purple goodness, place in collar.

take out 2 of the 4 t5 2ft bulbs.

let run for 24 hours, then put on timer for off for 15minutes every hour.


all this bleach and stuff, I dunno how that method works. I'm guessing you have to much light.

Plenty ways to make cook some chicken so0led only takes me a few mins and is what works for me.

What i learned so far is that different techs work for different people. I have people that swear by one method and it dont work for me but i see it works for them. Theyll try my method and fail and i get nothing but great results go figure lol

They were all cut a quarter inch below a node and soaked in the bleach solution (helps form caluses) for half an hour. I think you are right about too much light, maybe try one bulb 8-10 inches away from tops? Is it ok if the cut edge is beneath the water level or don't bury it that deep?

Cool? I based what I'm doing off of someone who knows what he is doing, and has been doing it for forty years. Pretty sure it's just too much light here...

Nope, just cut all branches off except for the apical ones obviously and cut the leaves back ~ 50%
