The 300w was my initial choice what's you opinion on that plus the 400w worth of cfls I have? I figured the cfls would help with seeding and pushing veg. I know they cann be daisy chained together. The 450w for an extra 50 looks badass. What kind of yeild do you get?COBs are more efficient for a slightly higher start up prices. If you go for any of the economy line LED boards, the ViparSpectra comes with the best options and the best quality for the money. The V450 is probably the best value. I can flower two 3-4 foot plants with it.
Because I prefer LED to HID. Lower energy cost so it's greener, same quality, capable of huge yields if you veg long enough. More PAR watts and micromols of light, less heat and wasted energy. Why not just buy a 400 watt hid setup off ebay. For under $140 shipped you can get a digital switchable ballast with both an MH and HPSA bulb and a reflector.Just check ebay out .Most have a 1 to 3 year warranty and will cover your area and your budget
like this which total is just $108 delivered http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-Horticulture-400-Watt-MH-HPS-Grow-Light-System-Set-Kit-for-Plant-Growing-/191055700117?var=&hash=item2c7bcea095:m:mljFqisr912xqGezKkF77Mg
Do not use CFLs. That would be downgrading. Unless you are RM3.The 300w was my initial choice what's you opinion on that plus the 400w worth of cfls I have? Damn bro, Flash back to the 80's Roller Rink Night - what time does the Limbo start?
I concur... I myself am using a cheap chinese LED, Global Star 300w, and it's working out well for me.. But I also have a little less space (I assume, vertically... I only had 4 feet total, otherwise my space is also about ~3x4... on the smaller side of that, his sounds slightly bigger) and while it is working well, I cannot comment on it's reliability, as it is only a couple of months old.Cheaper Chinese LED versus HPS lights? I prefer HPS. the LEDs are good if they are top of the line or DIY COB LEDs.
Though there are quite a few guys here using cheaper LEDs in grow tents doing very well.
I can tell you how to build a fixture that puts out 14,000 lumens using 8 100 watt compact florescent bulbs for 90 bucks.I am going to say build a DIY COB light.
You would be surprised what you can build for around $200.
You can get that with 2 cobs.I can tell you how to build a fixture that puts out 14,000 lumens using 8 100 watt compact florescent bulbs for 90 bucks.
