i've grown and still am growing in corn fields although its really tough. The main thing you have to worry about (besides temp) is animals eating your plants.

I had 129 plants growing about 3 inches tall...and then the tops of em slowly started disappearing. I realized I had some deer problems.

But I only have about 10 left, and they're about 1 foot tall. They've been growing for about 1 month and half. Becuase of the extreme wind sometimes, my stem is about as thick as a pencil lol

If you need any idea about preventing animals and whatnot, PM me.

good luck man

yeah just make sure you plant in feed corn, it's a lower grade corn than sweet corn, they leave it out till late october so it can dry on the stalk. sweet corn will get harvested early, before your plants are done, but as long as you don't plant in visible patterns, you cant see more than 5 feet into a field and they are perfect for growing.

when the corn is very small i know they spray it with weed killer and maybe insecticide would that hurt the plants in any way...i wouldnt plant them until after they spray of course

of you have the room/space. start them inside/ green house, back yard. i personally use my HID to get them as big as they can before putting them down. this will let you plant when the corn is tall. otherwise, if you are not going to be the one smoking it....then.
