You would need to water pretty regularly I would imagine. The pot would be exposed on all sides for evaporation. The hanging baskets on my porch need watering once a day during some stretches of summer.

Smell is probably going to be pretty pungent. Being elevated in a tree may reduce that, I don't know, but I've done some checking on this type of thing. The drawback for me was the fact you either need to rig up a way to pump water up the tree to the pot or a pulley system to lower the pot so you can water on the ground. Because of those problems it didn't seem "stealth" to me, so I scratched the idea of tree growing.

Best of luck though. If you figure it out, give me an update.

Idk about else where but in certain places in Hawaii specifically north shore big island they do grow in trees. If you think I'm wrong then you probably can't surf well... It's more humid in the tropical forests so you don't have to water as much. Plus you can also make gravity lines from a near by waterfall or water hole that's slightly elevated. Or you can poke a pin hole in a 5 gal container and paint it camo and place it in the tree. Climbing up a tree is pita if you're not an islander. We've been climbing coconut trees since we found them. Idk why but I love climbing big ass trees with my kids still. lol I used to smoke blunts in high school in this huge ass 60ft pine tree with my friends after school and look out over the city.

Edit: they also put them in trees to keep them away from the homeless weed jackers that wander the island.

Why is summer so bad.... I mean yeah its hot and humid... But most of my strains are mold resistant.... Like white widow and kandy kush and kandy creme and they do well in very hot environments....

More bugs, more carrying water, more chances of getting seen. Last year all my later plants did better than the early ones. They finished stronger than the older ones. Plus I would rather not have to worry about them as long.

Alright, now to the plants. I took food and water to everything but the Tray Jumper. These two {1 Grape Ape and 1 Ass Cheese} look the worse for wear {of the better strains} from the light frost the other day. I did remember the stinky stuff, although I was too late on one.

The two Ass Cheese and two Grape Ape. No balls {on any of them} yet. It was two weeks ago today when I put them out. Maybe they had not quite reached sexual maturity. In hindsight, these two week could have been spent under the lights for a little more size. I will look back and see when I put seeds in soil so I can decide what to do in the future.




Look how purple the stems on the AC are. Maybe it is the cold. Maybe it's genetics.

Not bad looking dirt. I have mostly sand, so any color is a good thing for me. If there is a river or creek around, look for drift wood to tell you what the high water mark is for past floods. Last Spring I had some of my patches flooded by planting too close to a stream. If you think your soil is too wet, you can mound it up a foot or two. But if you can find some patchy woods with some hills, that would be better than a flood prone area.

Some of the folks in the North East {and the North West} with bad mold problems have bred strains that are more mold resistant. If you could get your hands on some of them, it would help. Also if you are sure autos is the way you want to go, you might buy some regular auto seeds and do a cross between an auto male and a photo female. You can veg them with long hours of lights to get more size {and better quality} than a straight auto, and they will flower when they go outside.

I'm open to not doing autos. Im mainly concerned about mold/moisture/high water table and moist dirt. Can you send me a PM? I don't know how

On to the Peach Patch. This is a Big & Stinky X CP1. All of the ones that were in the coffee cups are smaller. Next time I will use bigger pots through out.

This Little Sister had the label pulled up and chewed on. It was about 10 feet away. There was two or three I couldn't find. I wish now I had posted pictures of all of them, so I could figure out what was what. I do know how many of each I planted, so I may be able to use the process of elimination.

New members can't do PM's for a while. But lots of folks do autos. No shame in it. But if I were you, I would play around with some bag seed too. I did two strains of bag seeds last year, and they did alright. Plus it is a cheap way to learn.

Hmmmmm very interesting man alright I think what I'm going to do then is play with bag seed first.... So I guess ill plant my bag seed in early may and see how that works out. When would be a good time to plant my white widow, kandy kush, jack herrer, and candy creme??? You talked about how your later plants did better..... When exactly did you plant??? How much later.... And how did the incoming cold weather not kill them?.... Because if I plant in may I should harvest in october. Any later and you would be harvesting in December or later. This info is really getting good really good thread guys!

Also.... How do you plant later.... I thought it was all about the sun... If you plant later they will be in vegetative stage shorter.... And then flower faster.... Please explain.... Because I want to get the most out of my high quality seeds.... They weren't cheap... Lol

I was replying to Pointblanknoww. I think he had said he had never grown before and was thinking of doing autos. I was just advising him to practice with a few bag seed as well as the autos. Bag seed have none of the pressures that come with high priced seeds. If you kill them all with overwatering, too much N, or any number of other ways, all it has cost you is time. And that is the kind of experience all of us have gained at one point in our growing lifetimes.

Plant your good seeds in May, and they will be ready before frost.

Last year I started early and kept planting right through until August. Then started back as soon as I had seeds ready. Check out my thread from the full season's last year.

It will answer a lot of your questions about when I planted and harvested. But I don't spend real money on growing, so my way of doing things might not be best for you. I had lots of plants, so wasn't stressing about size or weight. I only smoke about half an ounce a month, so I have met my needs for the year several times over. {I've never sold pot, and hope to never have to}

When you plant outside, the length of day will determine when it flowers. The later planted ones don't veg as long, so they are not as big. When they are big plants, they take more food and water. Plus the longer they are in the woods, and you are going to them every week, the more of a chance you will be seen or they will be found.
