I completed the exhaust upgrade in my cabinet today. Done it all with a Dremel 3000. Boy that was a tedious job!

I'd say it was 60 bucks well spent though. Because with the pc fan. I was running the light at about 40-60% capacity. And seeing temps 6-8°c higher than ambient.

I've been testing the new setup with the light at a full 90w (wall draw) output. The room its in is 28°c. The cabinet reading is only 29°c. And I can feel the warm air coming out of it. Unlike with the pc fan. Where I could barely notice anything.

I decided to be nice this time. You can view these without being spammed by the usual barrage of images I upload.

Heh. I put it into its corner and the temps started going up.

Next bit... A directional vent. Or exhaust air hose.

It's 27.7c where it is. And 30.8c inside the cab. Still operating at full load. Not too bad considering the previous situation.

Hey trust me I know about those chepos! I actually just purchased a 4 cob kit like the growmau5 IV. I didn't get the cutter kit though. I pieced mine out mostly through rapid led. Should get here Monday. I got my heatsinks yesterday though and assembled stat! I'm tired of less that I gram per watt with my Chinese led20170302_193724.jpg

I was thinking I've been doing good this run. Then I noticed the brown leaf tips. Looks like I fed a little too much recently.

And the first lot of leaves have started to die in the flowering process. Though I seriously hope those buds get a whole lot bigger before it's done.

I'd hate to do worse the second time round than the first.

A big thanks to the Rollers who have helped me learn what I know though.

Ps: can't remember everyone's names. So you'll have to assume I meant to tag you if you've ever helped me.

Dude, everyone occasionally overfeeds. No big deal. You're doing extremely well. I'm lovin' it, personally.

A few questions if you don't mind answering, I apologise for not going through the whole thread to find the answers.

Whats the Medium or the stuff on top of the medium that looks like stale buds?
Do you think they are getting too much N? That can happen when temps are very high. I ask because they are almost clawing and they are so uniformly dark green ( could just be strain related)
Do you have lots of passive intake holes in the bottom of your cab?

Cheers Olive. I don't mean I'm doing badly. Just pointing out that little fck up. And saying thanks to those that have helped me go from a no grows, pot killer to a bonsai sized grower.

I was trying to get rid of these little flies in my grow space. Couldn't find diatomaceous earth or any other natural fix locally. So I added a thick layer of this stuff to the top soil. With the hopes they'd go away without access to the soil. It cut numbers. But I still saw them on occasion.

I have upgraded both the intake and exhaust. And set the exhaust fan to run 1 hour over the time that the light is on. Plus it switches on a few times during the day to swap out cabinet atmosphere.

Temps only top out at about 28°c when the light and fan are going. That's a warm night/day too by the way.

I could very well be over feeding/watering a little bit too/still. That was one of my biggest issues last time.

Derrp.... Forgot to say the stuff on the soil is sphagnum peat moss. Also. I just recently fed with some Mg. Maybe I should space the waterings further.

Yeah, give a little more dry time, that will probably be the remedy for you, most likely.

Turns out my plant needed a serious watering. I'd forgotten how heavy the pot was when saturated. Found it this morning looking really sad. Pretty much all the leaves were drooping straight down. I just about shat. I thought I'd killed it somehow.

I dunked its container into an even larger bucket. Then let it drain. It perked right up about an hour or so later.

Now that it's bigger, don't be afraid to water too much at once, just too often. Every 2-3 days. 10-20% runoff or so.

On a different note. I've been cranking my light when I see the temps get low enough to run it hard. So, who knows what I'll get this run...

I mean. I had it at about 35% output through most of the veg cycle. And part of flower. It's had a good couple weeks boosted to about 60% after the fan upgrade. And now that the weather is cooling down a little more. I've been able to sit it on full load (90w) for hours on end. Without heat issues. Pretty happy with that.
