How many lights in a grow tent?

Hey folks... Just bought a 3'x3'x72" grow tent. I also bought a 1000 watt led grow light to hang inside. My question is how many Lights is Ideal for this size tent. It has 2 hooks so i wonder if i will be okay with 1 light or should i get a second light?? If its needed I'll get it. but if its overkill that would be nice to know.

Your led draw is probably half that 1000 watts but that'll be fine for a 3x3.

Agreed, you'll be fine. Then again investing in more light never ever hurt a grow. Plus it's an LED you'll have better more uniform coverage. I say if you can keep your temps in check it won't hurt at all to have another light. I started with one 600w LED. Bought another within the first week of germination. If you're gonna do it, do it right, and big!

i would do no less than 4 of those in a 3x3.

That unit consumes 185 watts. You can get away with 2 of those units in your 3 x 3 tent. You'd have 41 watts per square foot. More then enough.

Put as much lighting in that your wallet and circuit breaker can handle... Keeping the temps down is another story however.

I promise you will not be happy with the results of 1 or 2 lights if you plan to fill that tent up. Terrible lights.

I don't need to own to know what the outcome will be. i own cheap led's and know how many it will take to fill an area like that. Think about it, its a 3x3 square and you are gonna put 2 lights? How does 2 lights fit evenly and cover well in a square? These lights are on the very low end on the low end so if you want to use them you are going to need a bunch or expect lackluster results.

Your talking to a guy who was using Cfl's a week ago. lol. I guess what your saying is that all 100+ verified buyers of this light on Amazon are all lying.... just so people like me will buy it,... and so people like you can tell me how my new light is junk.

I do appreciate ur input. I can see your just trying to help me buy something that will work and for the long run. I did however buy this one already so im going to use it. If i need to upgrade down the road then I most certainly will.

I mean ive looked into growers opinions on forums like this and all say unless you are willing to fork out alot of money for a quality unit or are clever enough to source the components and build one yourself (still isnt cheap) then they are not worth having.

Good idea. I was thinking two would be the answer. Im gonna have to research COB's or Qb's because i've never heard of either.

COBs and Quantum Boards are LEDs. They are the new technology LED.
What you bought is old "blurple" LED technology. They veg pretty well, but leave more to be desired in flower.

I'm seeing price tag of £160 for one of those lights @Senior Smoke, if your considering buying more then just do what GrowGoriila suggested.
I built my cob set up for around $600, that lights up 4x4, my Quantum boards light up another 4x4. That's two kits which at the time were $285 each. To light up a 3x3 you can probably do it for $300-$350 with cobs.
Better to do that than spend on 4 more of those.
