Almost 1/3 of all homicides in my county 2010-16 were police killings

Britain is the only other developed nation with worse wealth inequality problems than the States.

Yes there's opposition.

No, the People are not in the habit of making their voices heard.

Neither of those guarantees an outcome.

Trump is responsible for the greatest reawakening of the Progressive Movement in the past half century. If We the People actually want to be represented, we're going to have to stand up and demand it. We CAN. The only question left to answer is if we WILL.
You've once again shown your ignorance.

The wealth inequality you mention is only prevalent when you include the "City of London" which is the financial hub of the UK and is a weird incorporated legal entity.

In the UK they also have generous welfare and free healthcare for all.

We're pretty much last in all of that here, I'd argue there is no country that has things as backwards as we do considering our massive overall wealth.

Every time a positive nation revolts society starts over with a promise of equality OR a better standard of life before heading down the road to chaos once more (founding fathers). Every civilization since the begging of time has repeatedly done or never recovered from an end cycle. I beleive we are not far from an end cycle.. but the problem is technology has remained and advanced during society collapse. This means the end cycle is progressively getting worse on the planet.. to the point we may not survive the next one.

You show some ignorance here yourself. The north of England is very poor with many issues, as are parts right across the country and uk. The NHS has been hijacked by the private sector and is being drained of all finance. The standard of ''free'' care is now horrendous, they couldn't pay some people to receive it, it's that bad. People are dying daily due to delayed care, no care or infections from what ever care received. Nurses and doctors are under staffed and over worked, leading to a lot of mistakes at the cost of life or limb.

I think your assessment is very astute, and I'd add that where before when civilisations collapsed, it was a local or regional phenomenon- and weapons were hand held or human powered.

Today's civilisation is global; when it collapses, the only place to avoid it will be off planet. And it will be necessary to be off planet to survive, because nukes will be exchanged.

Either we become a spacefaring race- or we perish in a fireball of greed, vanity and aggression, it's really that stark a choice.

It's only a matter of when.

The news coverage here is thin, but I've been watching as PM Theresa May has pushed for privatisation of the NHS and has been running into increasingly fierce opposition. She's as much a Neoliberal corporate puppet as anyone we have on this side of the pond and she's got the same agenda; tax cuts for the rich at the expense of everyone else.

It will be a disaster for England, just as it is here.

NO ONE NEEDS A BILLION DOLLARS. EVER.

It's not poor, it's simply less wealthy.

The NHS is experiencing some problems under Conservative leadership, it'll be fixed, no-one there wants it touched negatively whatsoever and that is key to all of their election manifestos.

Well, you have just proven beyond any doubt how badly out of touch you are with British politics.

Not at all out of character for you to shoot off your mouth about things you know little of, so at least you're consistent!

It was fine until May took over, it'll be fixed or she'll be kicked out of power.

I think you underestimate how much the British people love their NHS and heads will roll over it's recent mismanagement.

Infact, if an election were called she'd already be removed, she's only holding on in coalition with a Northern Irish party.
