just ordered a new multimeter from amazon. definitely goes up to 10A. its a bit nicer than what i have but still less than $20. has a little kickstand, back lit read-out and very good reviews. will be here thursday.

on a side note, my hanna ph checker pen crapped out and just when i am fighting some root rot issues in my veg area. new ph pen will be here wednesday.

it's been a week since i put the 4 plants in the F-Cloak tent. They have doubled in size. the mk-ultra pheno i have here is quite a tall, lengthy noded indica and may get topped soon in an attempt to keep the canopy even. which will be hard, with the bogglegum which is short, tight noded and bushy.

i will post a few new weekly pics in a few.

you just may need more vertical bars..what do you think..how many watts?

also those little beauties you have growing if think are way too far away from prob not enough wattage

perhaps get em bigger with horizontal lighting or at least a zillion time closer ..

your setup is for a more full sized plant

though iguess you prob know that..and you may nothave veg room yet any way

you really need to have those strips "almost" touching the plants

great looking room dude!

and i hope it works..

thanks, all your concerns have already been discussed in this thread. not really a veg tent, but its doing fine.

Wow, man. Long time lurker, and I've been reading these threads for years. This is one of the more innovative things I've seen somebody construct. I never heard of the SunCloak until I saw your pic in a different thread. Add another DIY project to the ever growing wishlist. Anyways, great job!

I too am curious about the side lightening. Ill keep up to date on this little experiment. Good luck

thanks, i'll get some pics up this next weekend. plants had a slight case of root rot coming out of my infected veg area. think it stunted both GTH plants and the bogglegum. fought it off with some H202, and have seen new healthy root growth. helluva time to get my first case of root rot :cuss:

still battling infected clones in the veg area, but working on that.

i am overdue for an update here...

both of my GTH#1 plants contracted root rot in my veg area, before i pulled everything and cleaned. the bogglegum and mk-ultra also have minor cases, but have not shown it as much.

i am treating with 100-200ml H202 every 24 hours (10-12gallons) and foliar feeding.

probably gonna flip the tent tonight, as the GTH are 8-10", the mk-ultra has been topped twice already and the bogglegum (short and stout) is sexually mature.

will top off reservoirs and run nutes up to about 1200ppm

mk-ultra, she's kinda ugly with the trim job i gave her. both phenos of the mk-ultra i have identified so far have very lengthy nodes. thought it would be the opposite for the mostly indica strain.

This is great! I can't wait to see how the vertical lights perform throughout the grow. I have searched for a vertical light to get more light through the canopy, but to no avail. You have intrigued me, I'm going to have to build some of these. Do you think using 3W or 5W diodes would be better? I'm concerned that 5W might burn the leaves if they grow into the light, but I don't really know.

Nice build. I'll probably upload some pics later of my progress with the Samsung strips.
I'm making my strip spacing adjustable,

I'm an LED rookie, so he can't answer your question, but thanks for the compliment

Here is a top view of the heatsinks pushed together.
The driver sits on the little platform in the middle.
The heatsink channels are 74mm wide and 20mm high and can be adjusted on the threaded rods.
Total surface area 0.76m
Driver is lne-48v320 320W at 48V
Will use 3 4' Samsung double strips 200mm center to center.

will get more pictures up this weekend.

bogglegum is female, woohoo !!!! tent full of ladies

all plants are still suffering from a mild case of root root. H202 and pool shock have forced the root into a slow retreat.

plants are starting to stretch now. well, except for the bogglegum. it's only about 14" tall after 3 weeks into flower. if that plant was in my hps tent it would soon suffer light deprivation with the other 3 much taller plants in this tent. i expect the GTH's to top 3-4 ft and same goes for this pheno type of mk-ultra.

the little bushy bogglegum will soon lose close proximity to the two overhead horizontal strips as the gth beside it grows taller. but it is still surrounded on 4 sides, so this will be a good test of the side lighting.

gth's and mk are 18-20" tall.

like i said, pics this weekend.
