i think a vinegar based sauce is the best for pulled pork. not so much for brisket or ribs though. if you can't find it, it's just apple cider vinegar, ketchup and red pepper flakes.

I make my own sauce for pulled pork but apple juice is the base.
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons sesame oil
6 tablespoons Korean chili powder
2 tablespoons white pepper powder
2/3 cup honey
4 tablespoons rice vinegar
6 tablespoons wine, white
2 cans apple juice, frozen concentrate
Mix ingredients bring to a boil
Reduce the sauce to a thick syrup that coats the back of a spoon
Cool and store in fridge for up to 1 week
Recipe makes enough sauce for 6-8 pounds of pulled pork
