War officially starts tommorow

The war starts Friday when the worlds two largest economies, one capitalist and the other communist, go toe to toe, waiting for the other side too blink first.

The planned measures have already unsettled markets and provoked warnings from companies of damage to their bottom lines and higher prices for consumers.

President Donald Trump and his advisers argue the tariffs are necessary to pressure China into abandoning unfair practices such as stealing intellectual property and forcing American companies to hand over valuable technology.

Beijing denies it's in the wrong and says it's ready to fight a trade war until the end.

"The United States will be opening fire on the whole world and also opening fire on itself," Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesman Gao Feng told reporters on Thursday. He warned that the US tariffs will hurt foreign companies that export goods from China to the United States.

Underpinning the dispute about technology is Trump's anger at America's $375 billion deficit in goods trade with China. But after three rounds of negotiations between the two sides, including a Chinese pledge to significantly increase purchases of American products, Trump decided to go ahead with the tariffs.

The clash with China comes as the Trump administration is also fighting over trade with American allies such as Canada, Mexico and the European Union. US tariffs on steel and aluminum imports have provoked retaliatory measures against billions of dollars of American exports.

The US tariffs on China that take effect Friday target more than 800 different items, including industrial machinery, medical devices and auto parts. Beijing plans to fire back by hitting 545 American products such as SUVs, meat and seafood.

The US measures are expected to take effect first, shortly after midnight ET on Friday. That's around midday in Beijing, and the Chinese government will wait until then to retaliate, as it "will never fire the first shot but will be forced to strike back," Gao said.

So, here we stand alone as a nation, seeing as we've lost ALL our fucking allies (except fucking Israel) about to embark on the road too economic self destruction.

MAGA?

Well, Trump and his supporters better pray hard (lol), because the whole world isn't going too help us anymore, because their probably wishing that we, or rather shall I say Trump fail, and that's very sad indeed.

I just wanted too show yesterday's cover of Trump's home town newspaper.
Pretty accurate, hey?

China just smacked us with 35 billion in tariffs.

MAGA
Part of my job is devising a strategy to deal with the imminent loss of our overseas market. Our inputs are subject to a 25% tariff now and, in retaliation, so are our products to Canada - about 23% of our sales. Our CEO (a Trumper) was so excited in spring that he called a company wide meeting. Our largest competitor was rumored to be hit with a tariff by the Orange Menace and he assured the workers that "they we're going to get really busy, really quickly". But that tariff never happened (duh), instead, Canadian steel got tariffs. We use a lot of Canadian steel. So now our Korean competition has a huge advantage at getting our Canadian clients.

Our CEO just started talking about layoffs.

MAGA!

Yeah, I almost added that in - he is still fully supportive of Trump. My guess is that about 450 of our employees are out of 500. He will likely retire in a couple of years with a very good retirement.

It is truly amazing to hear the workers talk. Most of them have seldom, if ever, traveled beyond a couple of counties contiguous to us and have no awareness of the global marketplace. So when China puts tariffs on soybeans, their response is "fine, then they will starve" as if no other market for soybeans exists in the world. Brazil? Argentina? It is if they don't exist to most of these guys - so when Trump says "we hold all the cards", they believe him.

We have tried to replace Canadian steel with domestic steel and it has gone poorly and cost us a fortune. All the nearby suppliers have given us steel that does not pass quality tests - so we have put in all the man and machine hours working it, just to have it sent back or scrapped. We had millions of dollars in useless steel sitting on our factory floor last month but have managed to get most of it returned. Our search for good US suppliers continues but now we are having to find suppliers hundreds of miles away which jacks up the transportation costs whereas the Canadian steel just comes in from right across the lake via ship and never fails QA tests.

Not all CEOs are Warren Buffet, dude. Lol.

EU will move closer to China to replace our output. Wait and see.

On a more personal note, motherfucker put tariffs on a lot of electronic components I order from China.

Maybe those second amendment people will realize he's a traitor and sort it out for us. But that would be a terrible day.

tRUmp doesn't care, just another tax on working people.
He'll care when all his supporters in the agriculture sector get hit with a 35% surcharge for overseas exports too ALL their major markets.
And in order to make up the difference, which they will have too or go broke, who do they make up the difference with?
Take a guess?
Americans?
Ha ha ha
Be careful who you vote for, motherfuckers

Funny, our genius CEO breathed a sigh of relief when Korea announced that it would put on a self-imposed cap on imports of our product-class of 70% of the current levels. But there is no guarantee that our top global competitor will be limiting their output. It is kind of impossible for us to tell. Meanwhile, prices will rise for them and us in the United States due to the protectionism but it will all be pure profit for them while we give most of it back in the form of increased steel costs. And, as they are not limiting their exports to Canada and other countries we sell to, they can use this profit to undercut us and gain our global market.

Of course they will. It is already happening. Appliance makers in China have sent a wave of people to Europe in order to tailor their machines to Europeans rather than Americans.
Trump is trying too shove down the throats of the EU, Mexico, Canada, China and essentially the whole world too buy American, or else.
And you know what those countries are going too say, and actually are saying right now?
Go fuck yourself, your not the only game in town anymore, so kiss my ass, I'll buy elsewhere, gleefully.

I have three trips to Canada scheduled in the next two months and more will certainly come. I am not sure it will do any good.
