LED s give off very little heat but I have leaf burned plants by putting them too close..start at 14 inches away minimum..the light will need to be adjusted further away if you notice any bright yellow on the leaves..be careful with LED's..for seedlings I like to use a low powered cal at about 4 to 6 inches..and watch for leaf drooping..spray the leaves in the morning and once or twice through the day..don't over water..again watch for leaf droop
Got ya I’ve been watching them closely checking every 2 hours or less lol mabe a bit excessive but ifd like to nail this one it’s at 14” now they all look heathy I’m hoping they get bushy and not tall and lanky . I’m not getting bad streaching so should be good. I’ve read lots on the led hieght and it’s always watch out don’t burn em . Gives you the paranoia lol but so far they look good to grow.

Best thing I learned is to lift pots after watering so you can feel the weight and don’t water till there light again . Takes all the guess work out especially small plants susepitable to over watering .

That’s a day three pic I’ll post another of day six today when I get home . All grows I’ve watched on you tube with these light all seemed to do very good I’m hoping mine will . What is wrong with purple light . This has some purple to it but lights are white red purple blue orange quit a variety of colour on the 1000w bestva
thats because the videos on youtube are scams from people being paid to get people to buy the light. pay attention to the names of the people posting the videos theyre usually something like “madgrower420 kushman420 greatgrowsLED” stuff like that.

you know how the russians hacked the election right? chinese are doing the same with their LEDS, no joke.

those lights will get you through veg no problem, flowering is the problem, but by the time you realize that its too late to return.

thats the scam with “full spectrum chinese leds” by the time you figure it out, youre stuck with a crappy ass light lol

400 watts of hid will put out the same heat as a 400 watt led light.
The idea of using a led is that you can use less power for the same results. For example I use a 1000 watt light but built a 700 watt led to replace it now I'm using 300 less watts which is less heat then 1000 watts and I'm still getting the same results or better plus less stress on my breakers.
400 watt quantum board does not put out the same heat, 400 watt chinese led probably does

Ok thanks good to know. I did see the bestva was in top ten of 2018 reviews as one of the best new leds I’m hoping there right . I guess I’ll find out soon here.

yep probably the same site i looked at when first got all giddy about buying a growlight. i returned 3 chinese leds in the first month (viparspectra, canagrow, and advancedplatinum led )

theres probably at least ten of those “best grow lights of 2017” or whatever, theyre scam sites selling leds to noobs.

trust me, i got played the same way dude

dont feel bad, people get scammed all the time and then come on these forums.
either they listen and learn, or they spend all their energy doctoring grows and trying to convince others they didnt get ripped off

a lesson in cognitive dissonance lololol

im not saying you wont grow plants, you are just going to be REALLY dissapointed in the buds.
if youre growing to “maybe” “donate” some to your friends, your friends arent going to be real happy with it, know what i mean?

chinese LEDS grow plants yes, they DO NOT grow good FLOWERS though.

we are trying to grow flowers, not plants neccasarily. the plant is just the vehicle to grow the flowers with, thus, better plants, better flowers. so in conclusion once again, chinese leds=good plants, even great for growing plants. flowers though? not so much, if at all.

My quantum board is 33” away from my canopy and only running at 25% on my vegging plants at about 7 weeks. any closer or stronger i see signs of light stress.

my advice is start your light HIGHER rather than LOWER. you will find the “sweet spot” on your own. its better to let the plants stretch a tiny bit and then slowly adjust the light lower, rather than to blast seedlings with the led 20” away, stress the plant, stunt the growth and then wonder what happened. if your checking the plants every two hours, youll be able to notice the light stress within the two hours in between checking the plants.

pretty sure the led you have says inthe instrucrions to keep the light 36-40” away during the seedling stage. they dont need that much light when they are that small.

400 watts is 400 watts regardless. That's like saying a pound of feathers is lighter then a pound of bricks. As I stated before LEDs run cooler because we are using less watts compared to hps. A cheap Chinese blurple might seem hotter because it's got all that hot air blowing out of the fans on top but as for heat output 400 watts is going to put out 400 watts of heat.
