What's Nexit?

Since when did you know anything about British politics?
As was quite evident in your earlier post, I know more than you do. The leavers were driven by xenophobia and Islamic bigotry. I was surprised to find that you didn't know that. But then again you are Cult of Sanders and think Trump won because of economic anxiety even though that's been disproven. So, that's my bad.

Did you ever interview any of these people?

You make a lot of blanket assumptions about their motives.

I agree that economic anxiety is the root cause of both Trump's success and the results of the Brexit referendum.

As usual you assume I'm as ignorant and unquestioning as you are. I believed the original narrative but continued to question it. The follow up studies are very convincing that the original narrative was not accurate.

In both cases, Brexit and the Trump disaster, the immediate narrative was "anger at being ignored, taken for granted and economic anxiety". Follow up studies showed the real reasons were due to racism, bigotry and in the case for Trump, misogyny. White people are defensive of their elite status in both the US and Britain.

For example:
Explaining White Polarization in the 2016 Vote for President: The Sobering Role of Racism and Sexism

Brexit: People voted to leave EU because they feared immigration, major survey finds
Claims Leave vote was a result of general disenchantment with politics were 'widely off the mark', according to report

Citation or you're full of shit.
Citations proving Brexit and the Trump disaster were due to xenophobia, bigotry and racism have been posted.

You didn't reply to agree, refute or deny those reports. Why should anybody provide you with references when you never act on information that is counter to your beliefs?

Fogdog is right, brexiteers are our very own trumptards. Interestingly most of these people also hate Donald Trump because he’s a “fat American cunt”, that’s the thinking. Xenophobia is as British as warm beer and chips.

Tty won't accept that. Oh, he'll post the most specious sources demanding that he has won the argument but it really doesn't matter what anybody else posts if it challenges his predetermined outcome.

Then he'll slavishly hang to an author's credentials to justify it.

For example, Bernie says that repressing your child gives them cancer. Bernie is a Senator so what he wrote must be true. "Are you a Senator?" So it must be true.

Fair enough. I'll take a local's word for it, you've first hand experience.

What do you see as the way out of the mess? And the likelihood of such a solution actually coming to pass?

It’s a worrying mess, it will cause poverty and suicides, it is white priv. writ large. The goalposts have been moved or even removed, nobody can win except those with family money or great wealth, such as the politicians responsible eg Jacob Reese Mogg.
We need a second referendum which will now include the prospect of no deal. This was never mentioned in the first referendum which was all about immigration and structural racism. The economy feels buoyant so I never heard the argument that it was about fat cats getting too much, however the prospect now has persuaded me to move house and relocate my business due to the very real probability of a 20% downturn in the economy.

LMFAO

tty can't admit he was wrong.

"I'll accept that".

Within a week he'll be claiming Trump won because of "Establishment Democrats" and Hillary cheating.

His MO is to pretty much sidestep any serious and thoughtful post you make, wait until you are basically trolling him and then claim that you can't form any logical argument.

He seems to think he can make troll posts whenever he wants but suddenly demand that you take him seriously on demand whenever it suits him.

It is pretty craven, even for Tty.

nah

The leavers are Britain's Trumpkins.
The leavers are Britain’s Dumbkins:

Brexit caused by low levels of education, study finds
A slight increase in higher education could have kept Britain in the EU

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-education-higher-university-study-university-leave-eu-remain-voters-educated-a7881441.html

It's literally a dumb decision to leave. But even a broken clock is right twice a day, and in the long run it may not be such a dumb move at all. The EU is an undemocratic and uncontrollable monster operating way beyond its initial purpose and mandate.

Tty loves the undereducated.
