Purpling leaves

The plants that I just put in to flower have purpling leaves.

These plants are growing in a soil mixture. They started purpling while under T5's.
Canopy was always about 80 degrees.

New growth since going into the tent under metal halide is also turning purple.

I am using the recommended doses of Fox Farms nutes and feed them weekly.

In addition to FF nutes, I have been using CalMag at 1 tsp/gal every other week.

Why am I turning purple? Can see it best in lower left corner of image....

Yes a better pic please, although I can see that something is definitely out of balance here. Classic phosphorous deficiency tends to create purpling, but I'm not sure if the answer is as simple for this one as I'm seeing a couple signs of deficiency. Have you been able to test your PH?

The soil mix is just some leftover stuff from generic fertilizers I previously purchased from hardware store. I dont remember what they were but one of them was chicken manure based.

Heres more pics. The last one is with my HPS off and using flash. Sure brings out the purple.

The strain is called Tri-Fi(Triangle Kush + Fire OG).

PS: .I just flushed it with sledgehammer this morning and it seems to be purpling faster. Last time I flushed was about 3 weeks ago.
My process for flush is 1gal w 2 tsp sledgehammer followed by 2 gals fresh water followed by gal of half strength nutes.

Hmmmm...I was really betting on your PH being off point...are you sure your tester is accurate? It may be worth buying one of those cheap-o soil testers that come with the capsules and reacting agent. They're crude but can be good to get a neighborhood reading. Aside from that, I'm at a loss on this one...sorry buddy.

Good article...but mostly pertains to the buds I suspect. Of most interest, whether true or not, is a comment from a reader that Amino acids will cause a plant to turn dark.
I guess I should stop feeding my plant Muscle Milk.

Usually but not always the leaves have these reactions as well as the buds

@NwGKenny , I think you are right about them getting cold.

My veg area and grow tent are in the same room. Since my veg lights are on almost all night, my AC runs all night. I have fans that pump that air into my tent.
The temp coming right out of the AC is 55 degrees.

I have now added the intake/exhaust fans of the tent to the timer for the HPS light so that when the HPS turns off, it stops getting air from the AC.

Should be ok now...

Yea just don't let it drop below 60 degrees because the plant will stop up taking Phosphorus.

It's perfectly normal. Many strains are actually pigmented purple and especially so in cooler temperatures.

Why the hell are you flushing so much? Leave the damn plants alone to grow. And toss that sledgehammer in the trash. And what is Muscle Milk? Just feed the plants a balanced nutrient and call it good.

The purple is from cold temps.

He was making a joke about the muscle milk...lmfao. And I was talking more about the leaves folding inwards and leaf tips twisting rather than the purpling. That's not a genetic affect.

If the purpling is from genetics, which may very well be the case, then no it has no affect.
